Hi, does anyone know how U40 works?
I wonder why the speed is uncapped versus the 6Mbps advertised?

speedtest.net is uncapped usually
Try other sites like fast.com for a realistic test
.
Just to add, fast.com is owned by Netflix and will show our video-streaming speed. So, for the affordable U Mobile phone plans, their video-streaming is usually limited/capped to HD/720p/3Mbps. For U40, other mobile Internet data usage is capped at 6Mbps, eg web-surfing, installing apps, etc.
Note that prior to mid-2021, affordable U Mobile phone plans had video-streaming limited to SD/480p/1.5Mbps and an FUP of 50GB per month. SD/480p is a good enough video resolution for 6" phone screens. Eg we only need UHD/4k/2160p/20Mbps video resolution for large TV screens >54" = for 40" TV screens, FHD/1080p/5Mbps is good enough.
....... IOW, video resolution needed is according to the size of the viewing screen, except when it comes to head-mounted AR (Augmented Reality) or VR devices.
Seems, Ookla's speedtest.net bypasses our ISP by using port 8080 for the speedtest = bypasses our ISP's speed cap, if any.
Personally, I've been on postpaid GX50, speed capped at 5Mbps, since Jan 2019 = a satisfied casual home customer.
