Thank you for your reply. Just msg umobile on twitter.

As they explained, main credit expiry and u25 plan is separated.
Even when your credit expired and u25 still in place, you are unable to call out.

I ported in from Digi, when you buy data package, your main credit will be auto extended. However not for umobile.

Do existing 4G U28 users need to change Sim Card to enjoy 5G when upgrading to U38 plan?

I don't think so I mean 4G sim are compatible with 5G my experience with Digi postpaid. I can't say for umobile though. Best if you email their support.

Shop as in dealer? Perhaps it is better for you to just call UM helpline directly or visit your nearest UM center.

Just went out for a walk. 5G is available with using existing SIM Card.
My condominium only certain area got 5G Coverage Only.
Notice the 5G Logo earlier. Max around 600Mbps, minimum 500Mbps.

Anyway I am on U38 plan, upsize from U28 plan.
60GB Data worth it since I need to use while outside.
Gonna test at grandma's place since there got fully 5G Coverage.

My condo some area still 4G+
Hopefully the 60GB is permanent thing.
I always utilized more than 3GB per month.

Hopefully no issues later.
Hope U Mobile extend 5G Coverage to the whole condominium soon.

Outside my place in fact 1 feet away frm my door I can get 5G and 400Mbps speedtest. Just step inside my place I stand next to my windows 5G 150Mbps 270Mbps speedtest. 1 feet away frm my door or windows it's plain 4G. Try see how deep the 5G penetrate your location. All these based on Digi i150.

I check the coverage map for my condominium.
Not whole area are covered. Using Booster won't help now.
Only some corner got coverage. Like 4 four corners.

Let's say I walk to place got 4G+ then walk north then got 5G. Walk Back then switch back to 4G+
In Penang, some place like dot dot dot, not all got. My condo some part near to outside got 5G.
Highest I could get 600Mbps and above. I checked the coverage. Like some spot only.

Hopefully soon whole condo got orange color via 5G U Mobile Coverage Map.

I notice speed test with umobile app and speedtest app with umobile server can get more than 1G speed on 5G, but fast.com only can get 190mb. Even update app also slower than 100mbps WI-FI

expected, isps/telcos priority/speedup to speedtest sites such as speedtest.net or nperf.com
the servers are usually run by the telco

fast.com is run by Netflix, and it serves the speedtest from the same server that provides netflix content
so, the telco doesnt know if you are doing speedtest or watching netflix
and thus does not speed it up

so, fast.com would be the more accurate real result

also if you notice, doing speedtest with speedtest.net doesnt consume your date, but if you do with fast.com it will consume data

5G video-streaming is being throttled.?

Previously, for the low-end 4G phone plans like GX30/38 and GX50/68, video-streaming was initially throttled to SD/480p or 1Mbps, as per the T&C - later (around June 2020) it was increased to FHD/1080p or 3Mbps.

No throttled, maybe is umobile international routing issue, it can’t get full speed when connect to non umobile server.

Afaik, fast . com is owned by Netflix and is used to speedtest video-streaming. Most low-end 4G phone plans limit video-streaming speed, eg can't get 4k/2160p/25Mbps video-streaming speed that is needed for large >54" TVs or 29" monitors. This may also apply to low-end 5G phone plans when the 5G Trial period ends.
