QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Apr 19 2020, 02:10 AM) Yes, you need to buy a new U Mobile number and activate the number first. resubmited again. Before you MNP, make sure that your current number must be in active period. You cannot port out if your current number is not active. Both current and new U mobile sim cards are active. Hopefully can success this time. By the way, if port in successful, the UMobile sim card will be automatic become my current number? Cus the sim card got another number attach to it. Quite confusing. Dont want to lose my current number. |

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Apr 19 2020, 03:31 PM) Yes, the U Mobile SIM card will automatically change to your current number if port in is successfully. Thanks for the verification. If you do the MNP in U Mobile centre, then you no need to buy a new SIM card. They will give you a new one without number. I still prefer Umobile’s wifi calling, way better than DiXi one. Thats why I decided to port back to UM |

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Apr 19 2020, 03:48 PM) Surprisingly the MNP process very fast done.Yesterday afternoon resubmited, evening around 5pm already ported to UM. Everything can be activated via sms or UM apps. Just now tried the internet, ok la. at least still can surf and browse. more amazed me, the reception is better than my previous operator, even indoor. Lasr seems like UM already upgraded since I left UM last year. |

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Apr 25 2020, 12:28 PM) I see. It's Unifi Mobile. True. UM has their own pros and cons.Digi prepaid RM1 daily unlimited box of surprise has unlimited data at 3Mbps, but almost all Digi users do not get this promotion. Just a few users selected by Digi only can get. But for U Mobile prepaid, all of the users can get GX12, GX30 or GX38. They can buy the unlimited data plan anytime according to their needs. I don't like the company that treat the users with different plans / different options based on their monthly spending or else. That's why I appreciate U Mobile very much. Last year I ported out due to the signal reception not good for all the places I visited. But last week decided to port back. I can see big improvement from UM which I would like to give a credit for their hardwork in upgrading network. From weak signal and unstable signal indoor become 3bar 4G constanly. Still able to stream youtube smooth and stable. Even can make clear video call with my grandma. Good to see tht. Of course I do notice that UM wifi calling way better than D’s brand. Even normal VoLte quality also not bad. So I do believe that they really upgraded their network. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 26 2020, 10:21 AM) Good for u then... my place just a small town only. quite a lot of user here I believe.Your area must have so much complaint to SKMM until the management of UM took serious action... Or some VIP staying that area now 😁 Maybe they need time to upgrade network and its not easy also. If your area are good, just stick to the one. 😁 |

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Apr 26 2020, 07:45 AM) Another thing also, when I run some speedtest, It says 2-3mbps. Sometime even slower! But I got no problem in watching youtube whole day. Playing online game also no prob. Of course my plan gx12 got speed limit, but still not stopping me from gaming and youtubing. Dont know still can rely on those speedtest apps or not.🧐 |

QUOTE(krayzie @ Apr 27 2020, 05:05 PM) Dear all, I'd like to check regarding this U Mobile - UMI Data Plan. for UMI, you will hv seperate data bucket and different category for different usage.Refer to the attachment, it state in all plans that only Video ONZ have data limit while the rest usage are Unlimited. But it also states that when exceeded data, there will be throttling of speed. Does throttling only apply to Video ONZ usage? Or throttling apply to all function? Also, does using other function stated as unlimited to consume any of the allocated data? those who falls on unlimited one, Ie FB messenger etc will remain unlimited quota. But for video onz, once u utilised all for video onz, it will utilise your main data. once both finish, speed will be limited. You need to see which apps falls on which category. |

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Apr 17 2021, 06:51 PM) Anyone switched to eSim? Just curious how is the experience yes. you cant directly port in as esim.Staff told me can't do it for me yet when I first port in, need to return again after successfully porting in. after successful port in, u need to visit umobile centre (not authorised dealer) to get a sim replacement and pay RM 10. they will give you a card which is your esim QR code. also you need wifi while scanning that code. xperiaDROID liked this post

QUOTE(incredibless @ Aug 7 2021, 07:30 PM) Considering MNP my main maxis postpaid to umobile GX68. Anyone port from maxis? If yes, how is your experience? So far few months I bought a prepaid but my area is klang and portdickson and since lockdown not really try at major KL cities. The speed was way better than maxis and coverage on the two location i stay put is better too. However, i am not sure is it okay to port over umobile for long term usage since yet to try at other places. Another point is since wfh i dont really use much data thus considering lower down my phone bill commitment. i ported from maxis after trying for few months. my experience, UM at my home and work place acceptable, able to load and playing youtube while driving.been to kapar and klang also no problem there. in kl city, most of the places was ok. scanning mysejahtera also no prob. last time with maxis, sometime i need to turn off data only can open mysejahtera faster. with UM, no problem. so far nvr got any problem using UM gx plan. i think postpaid should get better speed and priority. i think if you want to park your number, better go for yoodo as you can buy minimum sms for few bucks that lasts for 30 day. effectz liked this post

QUOTE(goyachanpuru @ Oct 27 2021, 09:39 PM) I was using Umobile Prepaid before switching to Digi Prepaid. me too. now using yoodo because lesser using data.To be honest if compare to Digi, Umobile coverage and network speed is better, at least at JB area where I stay. But since MCO I hardly use a lot of data, and Digi's prepaid monthly plan is cheaper and the always active feature is more attractive as I do not have to keep track when to top up in order to keep my line active, that's why I switch to Digi. If Umobile introduces similar prepaid plan like what Digi has, I will definitely switch back. if UM introduce more flexible option, definitely will go back to UM. |

QUOTE(sexysarah1992 @ Nov 1 2021, 08:34 PM) yes. to port over from celcom, first, you must get a sim card. this is when you want to do port over by yourself. unless you go to dealer or UM centre, they will give you a sim card on the spot. sexysarah1992 liked this post

QUOTE(eddieleon7pc @ Jan 14 2022, 11:51 PM) Hello everyone, i'll be needing some advice from you guys after mco, i also want to cut down my cost. mostly at home and got wifi at home. mostly calling my family everyday for 30mins average.I am now using Maxis One Prime (Fibre + postpaid) , the postpaid part is of concern My Maxis postpaid is the RM98 one and the total cost include fiber is 240 every month I plan to switch to Umobile , not sure which one to choose either GX50 or U28 - I am mostly at home so data is not the highest priority here , only use it outside rarely - My calls are just average so unlimited calls is NOT a must - Key point is i want cheap and good value to money (Additional reasons , probably useless) - My Current bills Maxis One prime is really taxing on me , total 240 - Plan to cut down on mobile postpaid to lighten the burden - dont have a job due to mental health issues , so really need to make critical financial decisions - If anyone ever port out from MAXIS to Umobile maybe can share experience? Thanks, but i choose yoodo. if whole month i no need to go out , i just choose voice only, 4000 minutes for rm12/30days. to me 4000 voice call more thn enough. normally i will buy a bit data + voice, 20gb + 4000 call minutes for rm32 for 30 days. can change my plan every month according to my needs. to me i think this is the most suitable plan. just sharing my experience. eddieleon7pc liked this post

QUOTE(joshie @ Jan 13 2025, 07:45 PM) Hi, wanted to get some advice or comment regarding umobile. I've been using maxis for many years and recently saw umobile 128 family plan. I'm staying in puchong, work area mostly KL and Sunway area. Would like to know any issue with coverage and their service? Thanks in advance. so far i got no prob with UM. me too just switched from M 2months ago together with all my sub lines. found out their coverage now quite good indoor and outdoor.call quality good as well. but mostly on whatsapp calls or imessage call. loud and clear. mostly at seri kembangan, sunway, klia, east malaysia ie kuching, bintulu, sibu and KK compared to few years back, i was shocked that UM improved a lot. sometimes when 4G not sufficient, i will try to switch on 5G. so far i got no prob connecting myself with others. |
