Permitting fee, charged by the local council is only one of the costs involved to set up a base station/tower. There are also number of forms that needs to be submitted, between 20-30 forms, depending on states. Wan said that approvals are required from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba), Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), MCMC and others to set up the Telco Tower.

All these exclude the cost of setting up the Telco tower structure itself, which is said to be more than RM100,000.

Afaik, a mid-band(= 600MHz to 6GHz) 5G cell tower can serve about up to 250 simultaneous users while an mmWave(24GHz to 86GHz) 5G small-cell base-station can serve about up to 1,000 simultaneous users. The latter is usually deployed by celcos in city areas while the former is usually deployed in other areas, eg suburbs, small towns and rural/kampung areas.

Seems, MCMC will be appointing 1 common non-profit consortium to allocate 5G bandwidth and infrastructure to 8 different 5G celcos. So, 1 location may have 2 mid-band 5G cell-towers with 1 cell-tower allocated to 4 celcos transmitting at different 5G frequency Bands, as allocated by MCMC.

If after restarting phone still cannot, call up your bank customer service and tell them the SMS from their code is not going through your present provider. Also inform them you switched telco(MNC) with your existing number.

Above fyi, ie you can try flashing the firmware, etc.

Best to avoid self-importing 4G/5G phones or modems from China/HK/Taiwan or Japan or Korea or USA or Europe bc the OEMs and local celcos often pakat, eg to maximize profits, eg sell 5G phones/modems with postpaid plans.
