Is this a sign that Singaporeans want to dominate Malaysia telco business?
*
but still the three stooges [digi, maxis & celcom] are dominating the telco industries in Malaysia.

still far away. just wait and see. even the so called Ultra Fast Fibre Broadband, MyRepublic from Singapore yet masuk to Johor.

Meanwhile from the past year Malaysia keeps selling overseas assets and investment while making major share of local assets be held by foreign entity, don't they know how to manage financial without opting the easy way out?

Singapore telcos market are saturated already, Malaysia is next best things since mobile data is pricier than neighboring countries but cheaper than themselves
*
Right, Malaysian telco is one of the cheapest in the world to offer unlimited data packages

Unlimited, yes

Limited data, neighbouring country is cheaper (except the southern of course)

Umobile actually disrupt the market of high pricing data in Malaysia, but slows down few years back

The one that attracts Singaporean investor is simply the ratio of operating cost over big potential user

What I miss is the maxis and celcom offers, since digi copies their plan and make it better, thus making digi the apple of telco. I'm not sure if digi ever copy Umobile plan though

Nope, GX50 wont work. Tried before on my Huawei 3g Modem router. Their firewall will detect and immediately block data access. Unless you use VPN which is 50/50 chances of bypassing their tethering detection.

In fact it's stated in their T&C

QUOTE

4. For non-mobile hotspot usage, you can use GX50 via smartphones only and no other devices including MiFi and USB dongle. U Mobile may from time to time change the device requirement for GX50 based on its discretion.

6. You are given separate data quota for mobile hotspot usage which is drawn from your Mobile Hotspot bucket. After the data quota from your Mobile Hotspot bucket is fully utilised, data speed will be managed.
So that forces me to use their Hero P79 plan, semi unlimited. Confirmed work on such situation (USB modem / router) .
Umobile isnt stupid either.

Hey guys, my GX30 rarely got 3Mbps. always got around 1.5Mbps sad.gif

Is anyone having the same experience with GX30?

*
You also using Netmonster icon_rolleyes.gif

I see your RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality) is at 13dbm, which quite high, meaning high interference due to high load (damn alot of users) or some buildings block the signal. This also can partly affect download speed.

If you test using Fast.com, yes, its slower than Speedtest.net because it test download via US servers (international link).
And testing in US servers in different locations can affect the speedtest result.

A good way to test for international link but use speedtest to test local sites to see how fast the download speed your area's mobile base station.

If you can get 2Mbps from Umobile is already good liao. Dont expect much from crappy Umobile.

You can login to the Self-Care Portal to download your statements for the past three months. It's available under Menu > Tax Invoice.
