I've tried recovering photos from my memory card (Kingston 2GB elite pro), but it seems that after recovering 100+ photos, the SD card went dead. It's detectable in Windows Explorer intermittently but never more than a few seconds
A friend who does data recovery told me that any of the 9 pins on the card is replaceable, so anyone with any knowledge on this, please chip in. Thank you in advance.

QUOTE(kelvinyam @ Jun 1 2007, 11:26 PM) So the pin is broken or what? Physically, no. The card failed to be recognized by the reader, and when it's recognized for a few seconds (I have to push the memory card to the reader) you can see the folder and files, but they can't be copied to the pc .

I think format is out of the question because he wants to have those photos back.

And I think replacing the pin is just for physically damaged cards. Can you recover your data just by replacing the pin, while there is nothing wrong with the pins?
Why not try putting it in the camera and transfer it using USB?

Nope, my camera no longer reads the card. I've also tried a few card readers so far, none can read it.
The dude at LYN suspects that the pin is the culprit, so I'm still looking around for electronic experts.
Thanks guys.
