Maybe we should use HSBB/SUBB/NON-SUBB area instead of UNIFI area , u know, now almost all their internet services was rebranded to UNIFI ...and very confusing...

For HSBB, I don't know if anyone from 1Mbps to 100Mbps, but u can see one person from JB Larkin in this forum was upgraded to 50Mbps (from unifi lite or streamyx, I forgot..), and he was very happy and posting it everywhere..
For some existing UNIFI user who r original taking the non-perpetual discount(still under contract), they may need to concern the price revert , if u r not one of them u don't need to worrry about it..

For SUBB, AFAIK, 10Mbps UNIFI lite was offered, paying the same price u r paying now. (slow, but still usable at the moment) .

For non-subb, some people was upgraded to 4Mbps/8Mbps from lower internet speeds.. (ya, if u need upload speed, u don't feel happy about it, very lame. btw, I don't think anybody will refuse the speed boost without contract renew..so still worthy for some people lah..)

btw, if u wanna free upgrade , u need to do it before 2018.12.31 . they should had send you the notice through mail ..or u can checking it on their website by yourself.

2. no, I mean only user originally with special promo plan that still under contract (after the contract their special promo price will revert actually,no matter they got the turbo or not) will have to worry about it.

3. If your neighbours got the mail and u didn't get it, u may still have the chance to get it, u may check their website to see if valid or not. or maybe pay a visit to see if they can do something about it.
If hardware is not ready in your neighbourhood yet, I don't think u can push them to upgrade for you by showing others people's mail(invitation) that sharing from the internet.

I think for some case , they don't even need to inform u (eg: upgrade from 4Mbps to 8Mbps), and do it directly...

btw, don't sad ,u may get a better deal next year..right?...For most people , it is just a tiny boost.

I think they maybe do it case by case at specific level... very hard to make comparison..
If users is paying a expensive price(with tiny discount)/full prices of the package now, it make sense that they keep the perpertual discount...
If you r paying at insane low price ( comparing to other users the get the same speed) for limited of time(usually 2 years), of course they may revert your price after that.

for most of the streamyx users, I think it would be true that they don't have dedicated bandwidth for iptv , and no vlan thing is needed in their modem and router.
but some 8mbps users get extra line(might be using another port), and they have a delicated bandwidth for iptv , I'm not sure if it is a standard procedure..never saw it with my eye, just some little birds whispered in my ear.

IMHO, u don't have to worry about it (and yes, it is very annoying).. They must be tweaking your line for your upgrading.

but after upgrading to 100Mbps, will your price revert 2 years later? we heard different thing for different cases..

Did you renew the contract by paying RM80, if have, how long the contract ? one year or two years?

seems too good to be true...
don't they provide you "free" vdsl modem ? ( or u use your own vdsl modem or buy from them?) ?
shouldn't the "free" modem trigger the contract renewal?
I think the email related to that modem will reveal more detail, and tell u the modem is free or what...

Obviously, it should be the Unifi lite 10Mbps (copper).. not fast and not super cheap,ya , it is cheaper . coz some people still paying RM129 for unifi-lite 10Mbps(and didn't get any news for turboing yet..)
since you are in hsbb area, you have more choices, maybe can try to file a complaint to SKMM for no fibre port.
btw, the decision is yours .
