Scamsung kena sued in Oz land over their IP68 advertisements before.

Serves them right, especially in countries where consumer law is very strong and takes complaints seriously.

I suspect the SIM tray slot is where the water seeps in. Keeps laggy & restart & heaty. Wish can sue Scamsung to compensate me a new fon.
*
Very unfortunate that we can't initiate class action law suit here, otherwise you will be very handsomely compensated. Third world country issues 😓

Not even 5 mins only , i dip it just to test if really the IP68 works , like this only...

That is considered very mild, quite far from the advertised limits for their IP68 rating. Don't know why some units still experience water damage

touch wood. i hope it wont happen to my phone. being trusting the ip68 rating since notorious note 7. i always bring my device to pool/sea and its still working fine. i clean it up with normal water every time after any salt water dip. will wash the phone 3 to 4 times a week if i thing its dirty or if i feel like it.
*
I used to do exactly what you did with my S7E but stopped doing it with my Note 8 onwards due to the discoloration on the sides of S7E, which I suspect due to exposure to chlorine in the pool, even though I rinse the phone under normal tap water after.

the official announcement for the list of models that will be getting android 10 is announced in samsung member, note 8 is not in the list
*
Note 8 already received 2 major update revision, hence only monthly security patch update.

QUOTE(danieln @ Dec 30 2019, 09:02 PM)
Don't say dip in

Even to water parks also i got a water proof bag for my phone. Lol
*
LOLz........you should add another ziploc bag for extra protection on top of the water proof bag.

RM800 not worth to replace the screen. Better to top up and get a new phone. Hopefully S10 lite and Note 10 lite will be making their way to our shores.

I have problem with tethering.
The deskstop/laptop can connect to my Note 8 but no access to Internet. Same SIM on Vivo seems fine.
Any idea what's the problem?

If just the glass crack, this guy can do it for RM 500. Fixed a few phones for me already, good workmanship.

I just got a Note 8 from friend and seems that all the sensors are not working except the fingerprint sensor. Even GPS not working and screen won't auto rotate.

The phone is likely out of warranty and I heard this case need to replace motherboard to solve. Any idea any outside phone repair shop can replace the sensor hub thing and how much it cost?.

the sensor kind of embedded inside the motherboard... changing motherboard... go buy new phone. not worth it.
