Hello everybody, my teeth are really crooked and severely crowded. Was thinking of doing braces, so I booked an appointment with at an orthodontist specialist clinic, but the clinic is quite popular so the appointment is going to be in November.

I also have an impacted wisdom tooth which has been inconvenient to deal with as food keeps getting stuck in it, so I went to the government dentist to ask if I can get it removed, but the dentist told me that she can only refer me for removal if the tooth becomes painful.

After that I went to a private general dentist, who convinced me to do an x-ray, and it turns out that I have four wisdom teeth in total (three un-erupted, but another one impacted) and a stray tooth in/below my cheek area. She recommends me to have all of them removed before I go for braces.

Since I saw that the orthodontist specialist doesn't offer other services except for braces, do I need to get the wisdom teeth removed at the other dental clinic first? Or should I just wait until November? I'm a bit nervous about the timing because I'll be very busy in December, and heard that it takes a while for wisdom teeth to heal.

Where do you live?

By right, most of the orthodontist clinic do have the service to remove wisdom tooth.

Usually you get discount when do at the same place.

Better remove it ASAP before your braces appoitnment

I live in Kuching, Sarawak. I saw from the orthodontist specialist website that they only offer braces (didn't mention any general dentist services like scaling etc) but the site hasn't been updated in years (the clinic itself is very popular though).

I also tried to book a different consultation appointment for wisdom teeth but the nurse told me they don't do wisdom teeth? Which is why I am quite confused- will they offer to remove them after the appointment for braces, or is this something that I have to do elsewhere before showing up?
