Ooh, if like this. Try complaining to either KPNDKK or MCMC.

KPNDKK
https://eaduan.kpdnkk.gov.my

MCMC
https://aduan.skmm.gov.my

Hopefully they will take action

Same shit happened to me. I reloaded my phone for RM30 i remember. then after a couple weeks, my phone balance is gone. not enough to subscript for the monthly RM30.
Then check E-statement, all the "premium-SmS from macro kiosk".
I called to request for refund, i ask how did i subscript to such services
Cut to the chase,
refund need wait for 15 days, dont know if i can get it.
I also lodged a sms scam report to the skmm.gov.my link you provided. thanks.

Please inform Maxis to stop sent the SMS renewal for this mobile number to avoid any charges in future.

So please inform your telco provider as well to terminate these kinds of services.

Googled macro kiosk in LYN and landed in this thread.

Got charged RM 3 by them also today! Called that number down there and questioned. She agreed on refunding but need to submit telco bill with number & name. Don’t have time for that, just called Maxis to block this number and refund me instead. Thankfully maxis is supportive. Bloody hell I wonder from where do these 3rd party subscriptions occur since we users never gave any consent! 😡 (ps. I’m always on safe browsing)

check how many $$$$$ they made . see if u number are there

btw every info I obtained here is legally available from the public domain

https://micp.maxis.com.my/mcp/mcpuser/ecpSMSRatesAction.do

MCP Premium SMS - Rates & Charges
1. Short Code Charges
MCP programme requires Content Provider to acquire a short code. The charges for short code are:
One time set up fee of RM2,000.
Monthly Rental RM500 per short code.

2. Transport Fee

Fixed at RM0.15 per Mobile Originator Message. Maxis retains all Mobile Originator Message charges to customers.

3. Content Fee

Content Fee can range from RM0.30 to RM10.00.

The premium Mobile Terminator Message is shared between Content Provider and Maxis with the following apportionment:
58% received by Content Provider, and
42% to Maxis.

Example:
If content provider charges RM1.00 for a mono ring tone,

Customer pays RM1.15 (Mobile Originator Message of RM0.15 + Mobile Terminator Message of RM1.00)
Maxis gets RM0.57 (RM0.15 from the Mobile Originator Message + 42% of Mobile Terminator Message)
Content Provider or aggregator gets RM0.58 (58% of the Mobile Terminator Message)

Each month, MCP is entitled to send (to MCP’s client) an equivalent number of Mobile Terminator (MT) message(s) for every Mobile Originator (MO) message(s) received from MCP’s client (with no premium value attached) at no cost. Excess total number MT messages for that month will be charged based on band of use as per Bulk SMS pricing table below:

Band of Usage Unitary Price Per SMS (RM)
First 0 – 25,000 0.095
Next 25,001 – 50,000 0.085
Next 50,001 – 100,000 0.075
Next 100,001 – 250,000 0.065
Next 250,001 – 500,000 0.055
Next 500,001 – 3,000,000 0.050

Example:
If 21 MO messages are received by a particular MCP for the month of June, that MCP is entitled to send 21 MT messages for free during the same month at no cost. The 22nd MT message would be charged.

For those who thinks telco should not be blamed for the wrongful charges, THINK AGAIN!

Their modus operandi is they'll send a SMS and said you'll be subscribed to the content if you are NOT opting out. Wtf is this crap? If in Europe, they probably in big trouble.

i do not think this is legal.
you cannot simply subscribe someone without their consent.
even if they keep quiet it does not amount to agreement.

so if i say to someone i will slap you if you do not say no, and if they keep quiet i can slap them?
yeah right.... ranting.gif

and WTH is PH gomen doing about it?

Wanna share my experience on this matter. Hope this post can help anyone who might face it in the future.

I received a SMS from those 5 digit number notifying me about subscribed something, saying if want to stop, need to reply "STOP".
At first I thought it is just some scam SMS, so I never care about it.

Until one day I made a phone call, checked my balance then I noticed my credit were deducted so much since I last checked. This was around September.
At time I didn't relate or link it to the SMS that I've received previously. I thought maybe I made some called or what that cost me a lot, so I let it go and never further check on it.

A month has passed, one day I checked my balance again, found out my credit were deducted again. Now I know something is not right, so I checked my balance every day, notice my credit get deduct for RM1 each day.
I didn't subscribe to any internet data plan or anything, basically the number are idle most of the time.
Then I received a SMS from those 5 digit number again, saying the thing that I've subscribe has been renewed. Now I know it might be this thing.
So I replied "STOP" to stop it. But it didn't stop deducting my credit. Instead, a new 5 digit number sent me similar SMS saying I've subscribed to something.

At this point, it is ridiculous, I've at least received these kind of SMS from three to four 5 digit number.
So contacted the support staff via Maxis live chat. Told me that I might have clicked something from some ads or links which granted some third party to charge me. But again, my number are mostly idle. I'm sure I didn't click on anything nor consent anything.
I asked the staff to help me stop all of it, and maybe block them of charing me.

Few days later, the deduction are still happening. I contacted the support staff via maxis live chat again, this time around, they said it will takes about 1 week for the third party reply them and process everything, including refund.
Now only then they revealed is MacroKiosk. Which I googled and found this thread.
Okay, so now I wait. From time to time, I received SMS on topup credit, a few ringgit topup from every single SMS, but not full amount. The amount that I've lost on this case is around Rm100+.

At the moment of posting this post, credit deduction has stopped for two days. However refund of RM83 which mentioned by the support staff still not yet receive.
After I received the refund will update here again.

For the record, the support staff are always being helpful, really appreciate their patient and helps to settle the issue with me.
I've export the live chat transcripts to my email as well as proof. Recommend everyone to export the transcript and keep it as proof.
This could happen to anyone, please be aware and cautious when you notice credit were gone for no reason.
