i only used bookurve. they have great services. but your link seems like cheaper by RM5 for the same book after i did the comparison.

wanna know why it stated as RM66 but you said it cost RM45?.

also afaik kastam doesnt tax it.

I order by books on early Jan 2019 but till now didn't get. They ask me to check with POS malaysia if they receive any mail from them. How?

if i remembered correctly, it took almost a month for my books to be delivered. perhaps try to wait a little longer since you placed your order just early this month.

No custom charge. I've bought several times since few months ago. About the delivery, the fastest it reached me was about 2 weeks, but only once. The rest took about 3-4 weeks. Nothing like that trepidation you suffer not knowing if they'll ever reach you lolz but they all did so far for me.

Same like above for my 2nd book as well. i think it took me longer than 4weeks.

regardless, during that time i emailed to the help desk and they got back to me pretty fast. and yes, they asked me to check with my local post office as well which i told them the local post office might not know as well.

few days after that i got my book.

so i guess it takes longer than usual sometimes.

Speaking of which, i have another book on the way since 2-3 weeks ago. but i have faith it will arrive eventually. With the price they are giving on some books, it's cheaper by 50% buying locally...so i guess worth the wait. Unless you're dying to read same day..then local book store it is then

my books didnt arrive since 9th jan. they told me they will deliver the books again, estimate delivered by end feb

i dont want to file a claim to bookdepository as i am afraid if they found out that shpment to malaysia kept missing, they might pull us OUT from their list.

i remember encountering the same close to 15yrs ago...most of the companies ship to everywhere except malaysia. When i enquire, it was because of high fraud rate.

everything they sell, they have to ship twice..coz its either never reach, or missing, or faulty upon arrival.

dont want the same to happen to bookdepository as i really like their low priced books

agree. something like DHL, FEDEX or even post laju so we know the status would be great. but i guess maybe due to free shipping they are using the cheapest method without tracking?

I've got a list a books which I'd like to buy from book depository, as the price is way cheaper than Kinokuniya and MPH. But, I'm still contemplating whether to proceed or not, given the tendency of not being able track the shipment halfway

so sometimes, you jst need to wait

for me, usually if it's cheaper than what i can find locally, then i will go for it..since 6wks lead time is not that long considering i have alot of unread books

My situation is similar to yours. I've got a lot of unread books as well. So, the waiting time is justified.

Based on experience, most books sold on Book Depository is far cheaper than our local bookstores.

The books which you've bought on Book Depository, was it dropped in your mailbox or were you required to collect from Poslaju/Pos Malaysia?

similar book sold at local bookstores usually costs around 50% more than bookdepository. so i dont mind the long wait as well.

You were right about the 50% . There's this one book which I've been eyeing for and it's sold at RM71++ at Kinokuniya and MPH. Over the weekend, there was a price drop notification from Book Depository and when I checked, the book was sold at RM36++. Sadly, when I wanted to place the order today, it's no longer available. Lesson learned

I have an order placed before the 20th of March which I have yet to receive. 6 books under 500 bucks and shipped out in 4 shipments. Have received none so far except a poslaju slip which I'm unsure if it's any one of the shipments.

I'm also expecting other stuff not from bookdepository so will only know later. I didn't now poslaju handles bookdepository stuff. Thought just regular pos Malaysia.

Yes definitely my books, post officer told me that there are 2 books and suck that the post office only open on weekdays so i have to take leave just collect it😑

You can write an email to book depository if more than 2 months you still receive nothing. I did that once and they offer you whether to refund or they will send you another replacement.

If only book depository offer us another shipping option which is to pay extra for tracking code xD

Poslaju office normally opens till a little late (8pm weekdays) and also half day on Saturday. Maybe they go by branch perhaps.

Anyway mine was ordered around the 20th of March so it's been some time now.

The only Poslaju slip I got was once from betterworldbooks.com where they sent me the wrong book and had to resend. When they did resend it seems they used some expedited mail which eventually was handled by Poslaju. The first send was via regular mail.

Yeah I asked them about alternative shipping options, was willing to pay too. Just too bad.

I had collected mine as well, seem like if more than 2books the postman won't be put it on the mailbox, don't think it fit 🤦‍♀️

I've made many orders from bookdepository over the years now, it usually takes any where from one month to 2-3 months, there was one particular book which took freaking more than 4 months, I had give up on waiting on that one book I just assumed it got lost in the mail and then it arrived one day lmao. The waiting really sucks but it's kind of worth it for the prices (which are mostly better than kino) and free shipping even for large items like box sets

If pos laju fail to deliver to ur house
Would they put in a card to tell you to collect from their office ?

If house, would they just leave it on the top of ur post box ?

For landed house I'm not sure, because i live in an apartment. Everytime the postman just leave my books inside my mailbox at the downstairs. Except one time, i received a delivery note instead because the parcel quite thick, i guess postman couldn't leave it inside the mailbox so he requests us come to collect ownself instead.

Got questions, can book depository pay via installment. Bcoz some of my favourite book cost RM 800 - 1000?
