Guys, any suggestions that I should go for class or just online self study? Thinking of taking unpaid leave for the class, business slow down tremendously since the pandemic. Maybe this is good time for some personal interest 😅 By the way, any evening class that I can go for? KL area

QUOTE(Kudoshi @ Sep 21 2020, 03:03 PM) Self study! Watch a heck lot of anime and dramas and you will be fine for vocabulary and listening. Yeah.. I do watch anime and I found some of their pronunciation actually quite similar to chinese/hokkien. I found 2 online self study recommendations on 1st page, which will you recommend? Thanks

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Sep 21 2020, 07:00 PM) 1. Depends on your intention. Really wanna master the language or only to watch anime? 2. Classes - refer to PAGE #1, POST #1. List of Japanese languages classes in Malaysia is there. 3. You can start learning from basic through [Minato] “Hirogaru Self-study Course (Vol. 1) --> link on Page 1, Post 1. I'll recommend completing the Hiragana & Katakana course first. These 2 are vital. Without the ability to read the characters, it's not possible to progress. I will take advise from kudoshi, self study! My intention—>Hoping 1 day can really travel around Japan like locals! I had covered most places around Japan over pass few years, I mean places that foreigner will go. It’s time for me to explore more, without some basic Japanese, it’s quite impossible. I just found this useful site, how to memorize hiragana https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-hiragana/arigatou gozaimasu!
