Hi,

Looking for a decent laptop for all-round purpose. Generally for work, movies, heavy multi tasking (usually more than 10 programs running simultaneously), some light video editing and light gaming. Need a fast laptop that can coop with my daily routines without lag, and last for another 3~4 Years at least sweat.gif

Requirement;

- Intel i7 8th Gen
- RAM 8GB (if 4GB can be upgraded)
- Decent Battery Life
- Display 14"~15.6"
- 1TB HDD (preferably with additional SSD)
- GPU with dedicated RAM
- Good keyboard with Backlit
- Weight : below 2.5KG

Currently I have shortlisted;
- HP Pavilion Gaming 15
- Asus TUF FX505G
- Dell Inspiron G3 3579
- Dell Vostro 14 5481 (Currently my main choice)

are there any other laptops that suit these requirements? sweat.gif sweat.gif
Thanks!

Budget? Prefer min how many hours of battery life?

I suggest you to try out keyboard on your own since typing feeling depends on personal preference

If you're talking about performance, it might last 3-4 years but if you're talking about reliability, no one can guarantee that (premium business laptops will have better reliability in general)

Forgot to put the budget. Around rm4~4.5k
I think around 3-4hrs normal usage minimum?

Prefer gaming laptop or Ultrabook/regular laptop? Mind low sRGB display?

I'm starting to consider more onto gaming laptops, For the sake of better cooling + graphics?
Considering my long usage (pretty much from morning till night everyday).Currently looking at HP Omen 15-dc0094TX, Lenovo Legion Y530, Illegear Razen. But I'm not too sure about the reliability of Lenovo and Illegear

Lenovo Legion Y530 customize, Y530 81FV00M8MJ, Y530 81FV016UMJ - 72% NTSC 60/144Hz IPS
HP Omen 15-DC0093TX - low sRGB IPS
Commandos Glock 5 (Clevo NB50TK1) - 72% NTSC 60/120Hz IPS, desktop CPU
Illegear Raven (TongFang GI5CN5E / GJ5CN6E - 1060 model) - 144Hz IPS
Asus GL503G-EEN057T - 120Hz TN

All with 1050TI

You don't need i7-8750H/i7-8700 unless your workload benefit from multi core performance, i5-8300H/i5-8400 is decent enough

Reliability mainly depends on luck

Note that more powerful GPU = more heat output

After thorough thoughts and consideration, I think I may have to re-consider my requirements & options; hmm.gif

CPU : Intel Core i7 8550u
RAM : 8GB (Upgradable)
HDD : 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
GPU : Decent GC with Standalone memory min 2GB (Doesn't need to be too powerful)
Screen : 15.6" FHD IPS
Weight : 2.2KG MAX
Keyboard : Needs to be black/Dark color with backlit. Preferably with Numpads
Color : Black/Dark Grey/Blue/any dark colors. Silver/Gold/White not in the list
Battery : Decent with 4hrs normal usage minimum
Budget : RM4000 ~ RM5000

Gaming laptops seems too heavy+bulky as i'll be Travelling A Lot. sweat.gif sweat.gif
Might need to go for something much cooler and on-the-go Friendly.

Right now I've only found ASUS S15 S530. But only Gold/Black color is available for this spec ==> with SILVER keyboards doh.gif
Any opinions on Lenovo Thinkpad E580? the spec seems to fit my requirements quite nicely.
