Is this is the one you reffering to?

Based on both spec and price, which one should I proceed with ya?
Is the price reasonable?
*
Yes

1. Go for FHD IPS panel
2. If you don't need bulk storage, go for 256GB SSD. If yes, 500GB HDD+128GB SSD
3. Go for R5/R7 APU. Basically difference is iGPU
4. No need W10 Pro
5. Choose 65W adapter

Remember choose dual channel memory and bigger battery. Also, tick all the RM1 upgrades

If you need other stuffs like backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader etc, remember to add them too

Sorry for the long winded question ya, I'm a noob in this techy items,

Remember choose dual channel memory . Do you mean selecting
8GB(4+4) DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
instead of
8GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
and bigger battery. Do you mean by selecting
6 Cell Li-Ion Battery 72WH Cylindrical Rear
*
Yes 2X4GB

And yup 72Wh rear battery. It adds some weight and thickness so if you don't like that, 48Wh rear battery also can

Hi ZM, you have also recommended this A485 to me. How will you compare it with E485? Pro and con of each?
*
A485 - T480 chassis which is top notch
E485 - regular consumer laptop chassis, only 45Wh battery (not enough for Ryzen), priced similar to A485

Is it a good deal or there is something better out there ?
*

Hi there, so meaning i should choose
256GB Solid State Drive PCIe OPAL2.0 M.2 2280 (16GT/s)
instead of
128 GB Solid State Drive, SATA3
*
Yes, but take note that you'll not be able to add any 2.5 inch drive since the 2280 M.2 slot shares space with 2.5 inch bay

For a thin and light gaming laptop. Which one is better? MSI GS65, Aero 15X or Razer Blade 15?
*
Depends on your budget. Avoid Razer laptops, terrible quality

If you want best cooling, Zephyrus M. However it weights 2.5kg, not under 2kg.

Other issues:
-poor battery life
-VRM don't have thermal pads (they use thermal paste, typical for Asus)
-chewing gum stock paste

Otherwise good build quality, keyboard, audio

Every model has its own pros and cons, same goes to GS65 and Aero 15/15X (you want to know more?). Both models need LM+undervolt

Not good for thermal conductivity if some stuff from tissue is left inside

Hi Sifu, is A485 worth getting compared to T480? Lenovo MY has a "NIGHT" coupon that offsets RM600 too.

Also will lenovo install the OS in the first hard drive or second hard drive?
*
For the price, yes it's worth getting

OS will install in SSD usually

Looking for suggestions for a laptop/notebook (don't know the difference) for editing/painting purposes.

Specific programs: Photoshop CC (and possibly future versions?), Premiere Pro (light editing)

Budget: myr2000-myr5000

If possible, would take something that will last awhile in terms of parts.
*
Budget so flexible? There are tons of options for such budget

Any preference on weight and battery life?

1. Budget : rm3k
2. Usage  : for work purposes, using Word, Excel, etc. Lots of transcription and subtitle work for videos.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :

Ultrabook
Ligjt
14 inch~
Easy to travel with
Don't mind with battery life that much as will charge laptop most of the time
*
Top up a bit can get Thinkpad A485:
Ryzen 5 Pro 2500U, 8GB dual channel, 256GB SSD, IPS, 24+72Wh battery (can choose lower capacity for lower weight), 3yr warranty

1. Acer Swift 3 SF314-54 with RAM upgrade
2. Lenovo Yoga 520/530 with RAM upgrade
3. Lenovo Ideapad 320s 14 with RAM+SSD upgrades

If you don't mind lower battery life:
1. Dell Vostro 5471 with manual RAM+SSD upgrades
2. HP Pavilion x360 14 cd0036tx with RAM upgrade
3. HP Pavilion 14 ce0082/83tx with RAM+SSD upgrades
4. Dell Inspiron 7472 DFO with good sRGB IPS

Do you mind 13 inch laptops? Also, do you mind low sRGB IPS panel?

My y530 have been great so far, no issue.
Dota 2 will get 80 to 120 FPS.

How are the temps? Looks like it has a bad stock paste (I mean, really bad. 20C difference)

At least Vega 8/11 is better than Intel UHD. A485 has solid chassis taken from T480

8550U don't have much performance gain compared to 8250U. The extra money isn't worth it IMO

Any preference on weight, display size and battery life? Usage?

Battery life... I suppose if I'm being really greedy I'd ask for 8 hours. (but I don't know what the average/realistic is)
Weight... I think whatever is fine, though now I'm thinking about the possibility of it being somehow too heavy for me to lift. (lel)

Maybe you can consider Thinkpad T480 with WQHD panel and MX150? Need to get promo code though

But loses battery life, build quality, keyboard, upgradability etc. There are many things to consider as well, not just specs. I agree that some ppl just looks at specs only which is wrong IMO. Display quality is worse in A485 though, sadly they don't have any panel upgrade options
