1. Budget : MYR3k - 3.5k max
2. Usage : Minor Video/Photo Editing, Gaming (Dota 2 / PUBG - not necessary high end settings) & Surfing.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : Preferably i7, with 12GB RAM, 128/256SSD with 1TB HDD. No battery life / weight preference.

Previously bought a Hp Pav 15 Pavilion with (MX150 2GB). But this time friend is looking at Dell G3 (1050 4GB) at the moment but both models come with i5 only. wondering is there any i7 models for it within the price range? Reason being choosing an i7 because he was told that higher processor can render his video faster.

He doesn't need a good sRGB laptop.. as long as the model is i7 and fit the requirement will do. Any recommendations?

dGPU means dedicated gpu. A dedicated gpu is more powerful than an igpu or integrated gpu.

Asus are not the only one's with light laptops. Other brands also can.

Since you travel a lot and want a durable laptop , go for Thinkpad. Plus the MX150 can handle the game (not at the highest setting , super graphics) but you can get it done pretty well. Need more battery power ? you can always buy an external battery
I looked around and found a similar spec from HP Envy 13-ah1027tx (i5-8th/8GB/360GB/MX150) price is abit cheaper and can go for EPP too. How's the build quality for HP and their keyboard?

https://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Me...5HZ13PA#reviews

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/hp-envy-...gAaAraAEALw_wcB

Anyone recommend?

Thank you

Looks like soldered RAM , unless you are okay with it - it's fine

HP build quality is good , keyboard is decent , not as legendary as thinkpad - but it's way better compared to a lot of other keyboards . the 2 year on-site warranty is a deal

I would opt for it , as you can get it with EPP smile.gif

You'll be looking at around a MX150 or GTX 1050
Get something with GTX 1050 for raw performance or a MX150 if you're willing to comprise a bit on performance but gain in other areas e.g. build quality, portability, battery, material used,

Yes it runs very hot with RX GPU. E490/E590 has slightly improved thermals but still not good. Moreover, RX550X isn't that good, MX150 is much better overall

Every laptop will have the chance of QC issues, premium business laptop line like Thinkpad P/T/X tend to have less

1 yr warranty (can upgrade, but extra cost) is unacceptable for me

Sorry but I have no idea why I didn't recommend any models to you in your previous post. Anyway, you fine with lower end GPU like MX150? I think Cities Skylines can run with lower end hardware
