*
Yes

The above mentioned model all come with 25W MX150/250? How can I know the variant of graphic card I get from these laptops before purchase?
*
Swift 3 might throttle a bit when hit certain throttle point but still it's a 25W card, not a big issue

You need to do research. Or ask me brows.gif

TBH 2k budget is low for a decent new model, bump up to 2.5k if possible

Hi sifu, I'm interior architecture and looking for laptop.

Any recommended laptop for rendering?
Mainly focusing on rendering fast with better cooling, slim and light.

As checked online most of it are gaming laptop.
- price around RM 8k less or more
- CPU (as fast as it make rendering faster)
- Ram 32gb
- GPU (not that important as not gaming much)
- pcie ssd 256 at least and 1 or 2 TB HDD
- preferable 17.3 inch screen

Last time was checked MSI GS series but not really required for gaming tho =(
Any suggested laptop model? (Able to add on/top up)
*
Max budget? Max weight preferred in kg? Fine with 15 inch?

Preferable price range RM 6k-8k+-
2kg +- will do (not more than 3kg)
Yea fine with 15.6 inch

Checked online lenovo Y540 with add on until 32gb ram.
Or any better suggestion with pros and cons?

Thank you
*
Many laptops do have i7-9750H/8750H which is already fast, the issue is many of them don't have high power limit (most have 45W limit) / good cooling to maintain the turbo clock for a long time which is important in rendering

If you prefer 17 inch, I'll suggest Illegear Selenite or Rogue. High power limit out of the box and can maintain relatively high clock speed. Refer to my gaming laptop list for more options (if not later others say I bias)

Or go for workstation like Thinkpad P52. More expensive of course

Suggest upgrading RAM by yourself (get x1 16GB and upgrade another 16GB), same applies to storage

Sf 315 41g ryzen 5 8gb or sf314 55 i5 8gb? Acer swift review quite nice with full aluminium body and 51wh battery. 🤔🤔 correct me if i wrong
*
SF315-41G - non-upgradeable RAM, poor battery life, last gen Ryzen
SF314-55G - non-upgradeable RAM, limited cooling (10W MX150), high sRGB IPS
SF314-54/54G overall better, cheaper too

Any ideapad model.

Only different in term of upgradable ram, better battery life and latest gen intel?
*
Different Ideapad model have different pros and cons

There are other slight differences of course like input devices quality since it's a different model

Any comment on lenovo ideapad s130 and s145

Very low end - definitely not old AMD APU, some have Celeron CPU, 4GB non-upgradeable RAM, 768p TN panel, very small battery

Hi everyone.
I'm looking laptop for my sister.
My last laptop purchase is 5 years ago and I couldn't catch up the latest line models.

Define high quality display - high sRGB?
Is dGPU a must?
No preference on battery life?
Max weight preferred in kg? (ignore possible <1.2kg)

If you want good quality keyboard, Thinkpad keyboard is the first thing I can think of
QUOTE(nzmiii @ Jun 9 2019, 10:41 AM)
CODE

1. Budget : <5K
2. Usage   : Light editing, Daily Gaming
3. Requirements :
Screen Size : 15"
Battery life : —
Weight : <2.2kg
Video Card : GTX 1650 or any better
CPU : i7-9th gen
Display : Good IPS (accurate if can bezel less)

Consideration : I would like to use it at least for 6 years and no gamer accent on chasis.

*
Budget cannot extend further?
Good IPS - high sRGB?
6 years of usage is asking too much tbh

Might want to consider Illegear Raven/Raven SE or Level51 Forge 15, however Raven SE and Forge 15 don't have high sRGB option for now
