Would like to ask which should I choose ?
Illegear Raven or Onyx Lite ?

Raven has better spec with i5 9300H and GTX 1650 but it is heavier(2.2kg0 as portable is my concern because I am a college students. It has thicker bezel than the Onyx Lite. Cheaper too(RM3766)

Onyx Lite has i5 8300H and GTX 1050 Ti. It is lighter(1.95kg) for my needs as a college students. In my opinion, the screen bezel is thinner too which is very nice to look at compared to Raven. However , it is slightly expensive too( RM3899)
What do you guys think? Do you think I should sacrifice better spec to get a portable one ? Will I regret ? I kinda in a dilemma.

Yeah but the Onyx Lite is so nice to look at with thinner bezel and lighter too, but Raven has better specs. Battery life 3-4 hours should be okay, max budget 4k. Having a gaming laptop would be okay too.

Both are using i5-8265U and NVD MX150 2GB DDR5...,ram and ssd i will upgrade myself.

How do these two fare against each other? I'm not sure about the intel integrated GPU, I heard these are underwhelming in performance

Budget including upgrades = 3k.., Usage=movies,dota2,some engineering software, weight and battery life dont mind...Display has to be 15 inch thin bezel...,which one is better between those two above?

Gaming laptop 3k i think can only get acer nitro 5...,i dont like the red and black colour...,legion y530 above budget...my max including total ram 8gb and ssd 256 is 3k only...

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop to last a few years,

Budget: 4k
Usage: Premiere Pro/Illustrator/Occasional gaming
Screen Size: 15" and below

Weight should be as low as possible though, preferably around 2kg. Would love a thin bezel display too. Went to illegear, but their Onyx didn't have the 6 core i7 in stock and they will not be restocking it. Any other recommendations?

1-2k, I do a bit of gaming and GPU heavy stuff like 60fps rendering. No preference on weight but a display that doesn't glare much is preferable. Long lasting battery would be good, I'd like it if there was a HDD + SSD combo in there.

Yeah quite tight. Dedicated GPU, yes. But isn't a priority though, integrated with good reviews are fine too. About 4-6 hours of battery life on light usage? Though I try not to run it down to 0%.

Hi just bought a new Lenovo laptop, thx for all SIFUs previous suggestions , now the new laptop just open box, want to ask should I charge the battery first before use or direct open using battery or the “power line”

No preference on battery life or weight. As I'm using Microsoft Office most of the time.

Acer Nitro 5 vs Illegear Raven, both are i5 9300H with GTX 1650, which one is better ?

1. Budget : < 3K hopefully (budget is tight but don't wants buy rubbish, willing to expand if 3K can't make it)
2. Usage : Photoshop / Illustrator / Premiere Pro / After Effect (Beginner usage for basic youtuber/blogger video)
3. Display : 13.3" / 15.6" depends
4. Preference: budget extendable for RAM (as much as possible), prefer stable to run above adobe software as priority. I'm currently using desktop for video editing, now needs something tht i can travel with it as subs.

Display with higher srgb score means it has better color accuracy and will greatly benefit the kind of works you intend to run on the laptop. Dedicated gpu will surely helps in rendering tasks though I think it is more processor intensive rather than gpu (however it always better to have if your budget allows). Sifus out there are welcomed to correct me if I am wrong.

conclusion will be I need not to have srgb n dgpu  (of coz is advantage to have it, budget just doesn't allow me  )

weight wise, I'm not looking forward for super slim (i understand tht too slim have bad ventilation) yet not too bulky coz is for travel..
battery is ok, I will find my way for plug in.
hope not to have gaming laptop coz is expensive but if have good offer why not la. sigh, kiasu buyer with tight budget.
