Has anyone compared the battery life difference on their X on iOS 11.4.1 and 12?

I clean-installed iOS 12 on my X and used it for about 10 days. Noted the faster depletion of battery. Not terribly fast, but still noticeably faster.

So I downgraded it back to 11.4.1 while Apple is still signing it. Again, a clean install of iOS 11.4.1 and with the same apps and settings and same usage pattern. The battery really lasted longer.

Just sharing

I backed-up everything on iTunes before updating to iOS 12 and then setup as new phone. When I downgraded to 11.4.1 and tried restoring, error popped up saying that 11.4.1 on my X was "too old" to restore the back-up

So, in the end had to set up the phone as new again after restoring 11.4.1.

And running the phone on 11.4.1 and 12 as 'new phones' made the battery life difference very obvious.

Satisfied with the downgrade back to 11.4.1. Will probably leave it that way and not going 12 unless there is a real need or new feature.

I have failed to restore from my 11.4.1 “backup” eventhough I have downgraded to 11.4.1 on my X. So, I don’t dare to say more.

Time-consuming for sure to set-up the phone all over again. But the only backup I need restored is my Whatsapp messages. There was no problem to restore my Whatsapp as I have a separate backup in iCloud.

Lucky to have downgraded back to 11.4.1 before the lock by Apple. Happy with this battery life on my X based on my typical usage pattern.

iOS Whatsapp only can restore from backup in iCloud.

Transferring from Android Whatsapp to iOS Whatsapp requires paid expensive desktop app. Even so, the results only hit and miss.

How old is your phone? Mine dropped to 98% after 8 months (with 140 charge cycles) of use. After updated to 12.0 and reverted back to 11.4.1, it increased back to 99%. So, it is not 100% accurate.

Can use the desktop app "coconut battery" (macOS, not sure Windows) to check the charge cycles.

anyone running iOS 12.1 on iPhone X already?

Would appreciate views of battery life on 12.1. Previously updated to 12.0 with not so good battery life thereafter.

Now still holding on 11.4.1 with very good battery life.

THIS.... is good battery life....

Unable to achieve this when running iOS 12.0 even after a few days for it to “settle down”.

Coz I am still on 11.4.1.

Updated to 12.0 upon its release but decided to downgrade back to 11.4.1 (while Apple was still signing it) because of not-so-good battery life.

Now since 12.1 is out, maybe battery life is no more issue?

Surprised not many know about the screenshot app - “Tailor”.

Super easy to use and accurate stitching.

Must we wait until “an unexpected shutdown” to occur first before the option to DISABLE the performance management appear?

Or is it up to user to disable/ enable just like the “Low Power Mode” function?

Has anyone realised that their iPhone X no longer power up (as in turn on, not wake up from sleep) with a single press of the side button?

It used to be a single press and the Apple logo will turn up. Now have to press and hold the side button until the Apple logo shows up.

Updated to ios 12.2 from 12.1.3 (skipped 12.1.4).
