I have recently gotten a quotation on E101 insurance from MSIG Malaysia for my vehicle (a 2022 BMW 3 series) for a 4 day trip to Thailand, it was RM56

I think it's fairly reasonable for an added peace of mind eg: vehicle damage / theft / towing from Malaysian border, which wasn't covered by both CI & VI

I asked them the same question, they told me they do not have towing service in Thai. You have to arrange to get it towed to nearest Malaysian border (either pay towing out of own pocket, or your voluntary insurance covers it), then from Malaysia side, MSIG will arrange for their partner to tow it to nearest workshop.

You might need to check with your Malaysian insurer if they have towing in Thai. I believe most doesn't.
