Sorry for your lost. Really puzzling and also heartbreaking when our pets die with no reason..... I have gone through that many times already. Now just watch out and take care.

For mites, do not use Frontline on hamsters or gerbils. Do get hold of mite bird spray. It is the safest coz birds will consume the liquid through grooming so it doesn't harm the animal.

Most bird shops have... or if at KL, you can get the imported ones from Pets Wonderland. Toby Pets also got.

Gerbils heal pretty fast. If it is bloody, wash only with plain water and let the gerbil recuperate by itself.

Anyway, mites can come from wood shavings.... it's quite normal. Some little beetles or insects can be found in the hay as well. A good sunning is all you need to get rid of these insects.

Today I went to check my lil pups.... 4 fat pups, 1 a bit thin and small..... but yay, of course got 3 Red Fox lah hahahah.... too bad all females, if not sure Babymoli kidnap one liao heheheh.

Hahah.... Later babymoli drown in gerbils. Yah, normally setting colour tank needs lots of space. I got female and male tanks.... then 3 breeding tanks. Alot of tanks also but not as many as Foo lah heheheh.

Yah... alot of funny antics loh. Heheheh.... Gerbils show more character and personality than hamster sometimes.

Red fox ah... you imagine, a nice orange red gerbil with no white. Full orange with ruby eyes. Heeheh.... cantik loh.

Yah... red orange gerbil.... can see very sleek fur. Shines almost like a black gerbil.

PUPS!!!!!! Can see some difference in the red.... maybe got light Red fox.... anyway, all born on 5 September. Can see the tiniest is the red fox girl.

Gerbils do drop hair... shedding lah... alot would be dropping their fur till botak. So as long your gerbils don't go bald, then no worries.

Sometimes tails can be half bald.... this is from overgrooming by another gerbil. I have finally captured the gerbil red handed! It's Latte, my agouti. Hahaha... he groom all the other gerbils tails till half botak, but only his tail is nice and full of fur. Evil gerbil.
