All awards are based on overall performance, not only World Cup. It shouldn't make a difference.

Something is wrong when FIFA's supposed best goalkeeper doesn't even make into the first 11, same goes for Salah who finished 3rd in Best Player but can't even make it into first 11 as one of the 3 forwards. And then you see someone like Dani Alves in there who's hardly done anything all year.

Well played Chelsea, fair result for both sides. Hug and huge grins from both manager says it all. We both have many chances and missed almost all of them. Credit to the two most expensive keepers in the world as well proving their worth.

He started last season missing lots of chances as well so this isn't exactly new. Part of it I suspect is his shoulder still isn't fully recovered yet as he is recently spotted still wearing a band around it. Once a shoulder dislocates it will never be the same again, it's one of the more easily recurring injuries in sport.

But of course the mental block is building up on him even more now after last season. With each missed chance he will be even more eager to score one but that split second of lingering doubt could be the difference between scoring and Rudiger making a goal saving block.
