Very tidy hattrick by ruben today. I like how all 3 strikes showcase different sides to his game. The first is pure power and attacking instincts. Love it when our midfielders are confident enough to take first time shots and just leave the keeper with no chance. The second is a great example of his strength,he basically held off their defender and just flicked it across the keeper. Very underrated finish and made it look so so simple. Heck drogba would be proud of that. His third strike highlights his superb technique, just placing it into the corner,although the keeper probably should've done a bit better. After he wrapped up his scoring you could see he was trying s bit too much to add to his tally l. But with the game safe and being a fringe player, it's completely understandable that he wanted to leave a lasting impression on sarri.
The thing about ruben is he clearly has the strength and technique to actually play at centreforward. Some of those attacking runs and dribbles into the box were really something else. Would love for sarri to experiment with him up top,especially if we don't get anyone in january.
He was our biggest goal threat for 90 minutes and i honestly couldn't see anyone else scoring if he didn't..which is really sad. Sigh.

before this we discussed who might be able to replace hazard if he leave.. forgot to mention lazano. he's doing superbly for his club right now. and as we all know, for mexico as well. dont't mind him coming over even if hazards not leaving.  btw yeah, agree with you guys, lets sign a petition for rlc & alonso to be converted to strikers! |
