QUOTE(shahie @ Sep 18 2018, 05:32 PM) no way. since TM reply me already. Why would people want a router from TM? Just buy your own router - it's not like they are expensive to begin with. There are plenty of good routers right now and SilentVampire even put up a list of recommended routers for your turbo connection Bonus points: you can reuse the current router as an access point/repeater if you are upgrading your old router to a new one in the future This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Sep 18 2018, 05:47 PM

QUOTE(pokchik @ Sep 18 2018, 03:27 PM) If you don't have any contract with TM, I propose switch to TIME. then record a video of you smashing your orange TM router and post it here. May I know why you say that? I am still undecided between Time vs Unifi. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

SilentVampire It's not exactly their fault (user) though, as I can tell you that explaining tech to the uninitiated can be daunting and very frustrating (I have been at the same boat as yours before) Not all people are networking gurus, and thus this is the exact reason why we have this thread for - to inform users on how to pick the best networking equipment for their turbo connection This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Sep 18 2018, 05:56 PM

QUOTE(shahie @ Sep 18 2018, 05:30 PM) story like this... last nov i'm on rm139 30mbps, 21 july 2018 received email i'm eligible for the 300mbps turbo upgrade for phase 1 (aug - dec 2018). after making noise almost 3 times on live chat and email 3 times also, on 13 sept i opt to change the plan to rm129 100mbps, and afternoon on their system my plan shown unifi 100mbps BEST (STB), at the late evening somehow i see order change with PONR submitted again, an hour later, boom... 300mbps....they charge me rm139 (exc ST). where have u done the downgrade? Really piss off mine still stuck even after downgrade. No change in portal. Why some people has been downgraded less than hour.

Mind to share how can I setup my old router as access point/repeater? In other words, it can be used as an extender as well, right?

QUOTE(fookinell @ Sep 18 2018, 05:49 PM) May I know why you say that? I am still undecided between Time vs Unifi. Please enlighten me. Thanks. 1. TM is still stuck with Pilot 100Mbps++ phase. TIME is already with such speeds now. 2. Good feedback about TIME service, stability, ping but of course there are still minimal issues though doesn't sound so much like TM. 3. TIME offer 12mths contract basis (with some added fees of course) whereby TM die die 2yrs contract. 4. Symmetrical Upload/Download (if not mistaken) This post has been edited by pokchik: Sep 18 2018, 06:16 PM

I put the blame squarely on TM shoulders. They should have a booklet or something for any users who install Unifi, and that will definitely help solve 98% of problems.
