May i know, why router ASUS AC2900 RT-AC86U , speedtest use wifi via 5ghz not get minima speed 500mbps
1. Set the Wireless Mode to N/AC mixed
2. Set the Channel bandwidth to run at 80MHz

Just upgraded my router to Asus AX11000 and I received max download speed of 500mbps on a 800mbps Unifi package with Asus USB-AC68
What wireless speed you get when you set the 5GHz channel bandwidth to 80MHz / 160MHz?
(Wireless speed, not Speedtest result, refer to the screenshot below)

Not sure if the USB-AC68 supports 160MHz, you will have to test it on your own

Important Note:
160MHz requires DFS scanning which your devices might not be able to connect for a few minutes after you've applied it. And some older devices won't support 160MHz too
GT-AX11000 is tri-band so you can set the 1st 5GHz to 80MHz and the other 5GHz to 160MHz

The router we are using right now is a router that was just resubscribed from TM around 1~2 years ago (not sure model name). In order to achieve higher speed, do I need to changed to another router model? also why are they giving us a model that cant achieve the speed of what they should be giving...? sad.gif
TM's responsibility is up to the speed you're getting on Ethernet cable
For wireless, you have to figure out on your own

And yes, TM provides crappy router. You want something better, buy your own
In the meantime, you can change the 5GHz settings inside the TM provided router to 80MHz instead of 20/40/80MHz/Auto

Also, you shouldn't rely on 2.4GHz, no matter what router you use, you won't get anything higher than 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz
You'll be lucky if you even manage to get 100Mb/s on 2.4GHz as most devices is only limited to 72Mb/s / 150Mb/s on 2.4GHz

Asus USB-AC68 does not support 160MHz and the setting on the router were left as auto.

As for the wireless speed, I need to recheck again tonight.
Change to 80MHz then test again & check the wireless speed as well after you change to 80MHz

Because on my room, my tablet no issue using wifi, even have half signal
But phone most of time only have 1 bar, sometime showing ! on wifi icon
Mean connected, but can`t use.

Router TP Link WR841HP
Because you're using a crappy router
Also, you're still using the overcrowded 2.4GHz

Just checked and the Wifi status speed is 1.3Gbps. Got no choice but to buy Asus PCE-AX58BT (AX3000) and test it myself.  innocent.gif
Did you change the channel bandwidth to 80MHz & wireless mode to N/AC mixed?

Also, to be frank, the PCE-AX58BT is still using 2x2 stream
I would advise you to wait for something with 4x4 stream like the ASUS PCE-AC88 but wait until there's an AX version so you can get full speed of 4804Mb/s

Disable IPv6.
I don't know why you kept advising people to disable IPv6
For me, IPv6 has been working fine for the past few months
YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Netflix, Prime Video, iFlix loads very fast without any buffering, all websites loads instantly, all games launcher such as Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net, Rockstar & Epic connects instantly except during the Cloudflare issue which has been fixed by switching to Google DNS for both IPv4 & IPv6

I would suggest you to test IPv6 by yourself because I don't have any issues with it anymore
Yes the past few years UniFi IPv6 has a lot of issues but it's working perfectly now

after install every thing I only manage to get around 150mbps
Set your 5GHz to run at 80MHz. Not 20MHz, not 40MHz, not auto, not 20/40/80MHz but instead set it to 80MHz only. Don't ask me how, read the manual of your router
Also, if you can afford to pay UniFi 800Mb/s, you can afford to buy a better router
All stock routers from TM/Maxis/Time is crap

Get at least ASUS RT-AC66U B1
Like you, I'm also using UniFi 800Mb/s. I can get 600Mb/s on ASUS RT-AC68U, RT-AC86U & GT-AC5300. RT-AC66U B1 is basically the same as RT-AC68U so you should be able to get at 600Mb/s on WiFi as well
Below is a screenshot of the Speedtest on WiFi

I thought 2.4GHz can reach 300Mbps?
No
You can only reach 300Mb/s on 2.4GHz if your WiFi receiver is 3x3 & running at 40Mhz

Most devices only supports 2x2 & that limits you to 150Mb/s which translate to actual speed of 90 ~ 100Mb/s

1. If you want full 300Mb/s, you need 5GHz running at 80MHz
2. Dump that WR1043ND. That's a very old router. My suggestion to at least get an ASUS RT-AC66U B1

If use phone Redmi Note 9s, can get wifi speed around 600mbps, if use same router with you ?
If the device supports MIMO 2x2 then yes, you can get 600Mb/s on WiFi

why so confusing??? Make life simple la... why we cant get full 500mbps as we subscribe that speed??? hmm..
What's confusing about that?
The ISP is actually giving you the speed that you subscribed, but only on Ethernet cable. No ISP in the world can give you 100% of the speed that you subscribed on WiFi because that is impossible as it depends on several factors

Let's say the ISP has already configured the best wireless settings for you, when they test on their phone that supports wireless AC 2x2, they can get full 500Mb/s
But the customer is using a cap ayam phone that only supports Wireless N 1x1 that only maxed out at 72Mb/s, is that the ISP fault?
QUOTE(achong09 @ Apr 28 2020, 11:12 AM)
set my 5Ghz already to 80Mhz... channel leh?? select auto? sad.gif
That one you need to figure out yourself
You need to find out which channel is less congested then use that channel

For ASUS routers, you can just use the built-in "Wi-Fi Radar" tool to find out which channel is best for you
Not sure about other brands, you'll have to figure it out by yourself

Google very confusing. Diff ppl tell diff things who to believe?
Nope, you just expect people to spoon feed you
Read more, find out what software can be used to detect surrounding channel
