For those using dual band routers, do you guys disable the 2.4 Ghz wifi? (assuming that all the devices at your place can use 5Ghz) Just wondering if there are any benefits in doing so, other than somewhat helping (less interference) your neighbors who are still using 2.4 Ghz.

QUOTE(nimbus kayano @ Dec 10 2019, 08:14 PM) I recently bought an Asus Blue Cave 2600, thinking it will be an upgrade of my Asus RT-AC68. On 5GHz band, I could get 300Mbps download with my AC68, but on BlueCave I only got 111Mbps. I’m currently subscribing to 800Mbps package. I’m using IPhone 7Plus to test.. I expect my WiFi speed to reach at least 400Mbps as IPhone 7Plus top speed is 450Mbps.. Anyone have similar experience? I thought I would be getting an upgrade, but looks like it’s downgraded. On Blue Cave On RT-AC68 Based on this review, https://www.tomsguide.com/us/asus-blue-cave...eview-6235.htmlThe speed can definitely be faster than what you got. Probably need to tweak the settings or something? Or you can try doing the speed test further from the router as the review says it is better at long range

QUOTE(wywy2020 @ Jul 11 2020, 04:28 PM) Hi Sifu here, I am moving into a new double storey terrace house where my relative next to my door already with Unifi. I plan to share the wifi with him and share the bill monthly. Appreciate your advise if this is possible and what are the device i need to boost the wifi signal just in case? i have heard of repeater, extender, mesh? Which is more suitable for me for my purpose? Mesh with ethernet backhaul (connect ethernet cable from one unit to the other) since the house is just next door.
