Hey Guys,
I am new here and I am looking for the solution of my network issue. I am using Unifi 800 turbo package. Before I move to my new house, the speed can almost reach 800mbps(Lan cable), but after I move to new house which is just the Taman beside my old house, and now the speed I can get is around 400mbps. TM technician came twice, they try change a new router and onu, the speed get even slower. with the original onu and router will get the fastest speed. Then the weird things happen when I connect through the TP LINK M4(offer by TM) I can even faster from directly connected to the original wifi router(TP LINK Archer C5) for both WIFI and Lan. The fastest I can get now is 614Mbps using mobile phone to test speed. For Lan cable is 583Mbps. Anyone can suggest me anything to get the speed back to normal? Thank you.

Hi all! I've just encountered something and hope sifus here can advice.
Hardware:
1) Tp-Link AX20 (5GHz, Channel 149, 80MHz width)
2) DLink Dir868l (5GHz, Channel 149, 80MHz width)
3) Samsung Galaxy S7

When I connect to the AX20, I get a link speed of 433Mbps, however when I connect to the 868L, I can get a link speed of 867Mbps. Why does this happen?

Edit: Solved, my S7 has an issue with router that have Mu-Mimo enabled. When enabled the link speed is down by half. Thanks to blacktubi for the heads up on this issue.

recently just installed 300Mbps fibre internet.
TM contractor came afternoon and due to time concern, he pulled the cable from pole and install the modem&router at 2nd floor (double storey house)
also the reason pulling the cable to 2nd floor is because less cost & faster installation.

but the thing is, most of the my devices like TV Box, CCTV, smart home all downstairs living room. I watch TV box sometime wifi not stable and laggy I prefer plug in LAN cable. Plus my CCTV (going to install in future) also need LAN cable to connect

so how do I improve this?
should I ask wireman come pull a fibre optic cable over the celling so I can install the router at living room?
or use mesh wifi or anything

thanks

I'm currently using Asus GT-AC5300 with Unifi 800.

And my main device is Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. The max wifi speed that I ever achieve is only 6xxMbps with 5Ghz. But the router has no issue to reach 8xxMbps if it is connected with my laptop with ethernet cable...

So I'm wondering did I missed out or messed up with the router setting? Or is because my gadget max only can reach that speed?

Thx for the reply.

Meaning if my device has 3x3 otr 4x4, so it will able to achieve higher download speed from the GT-AC5300?

Any idea whether which android phone models have 3x3 or 4x4?

No phone actually use more than 2x2 due to high battery consumption..

Well those clowns who buy 3rd party router and replace themselves at home, complaining why wifi speed cant get higher/full speed should actually read this thread LOL. WiFi speed are very subjective.

Couldn't agree more with TS on this thread, thanks for your hardwork.

Thank you for the explanation. Still troubleshooting this connection. I am using a note 9 to connect to my deco E4R in AP mode. My router is a Netgear R7000. WiFi off. From the router, I pull the cable directly to the main deco. I am on 100 mb download unifi. Only getting 50 mbs even though I am next to the deco. Any ideas? I also noticed that there are two classes of wireless download speed for all laptop/tablet/phone. One category is 50 mbs (note 9, s8), the other is 30 mbs.

I cannot change the WiFi settings since mesh wifi does everything automatically. Little overlap between signals since house distances are far. So no noise. Will wifi 6 router solve the problem? Or is my deco not that good? Based on ts explanation, I should get the 100 mbs since the router can handle it.

Hi Sifus,

Just upgraded to 800 unifi. Router is Tp link AC1200 by Telekom. Bandwidth set to 80. 5ghz connection with channel selection @ 48. Checked with wifi analyzer...no overlapping with neighbors @ this channel 48.

My phone is Samsung A51 Exynos9611, 8mb ram & Android 11.

Using Speedtest my wifi max speed I got is 250 with phone about 1ft away from router. Using cable connection with a laptop can reach 800. May I know at what max wifi speed my phone should be abled to get with this router by Telekom?

I was thinking of getting the tplink AX73 AX5400 to replace the existing router. With this new router will it give a max wifi speed of up to at least 350 maybe up 500 lol.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding and cooperation.

Thanks

First of all, your phone only had 1x1 antenna which means the fastest speed you could get on the 5GHz is 433 Mbps (especially your phone doesn't support wireless AX). Higher end phone typically comes with 2x2 antenna which could go up to 866 Mbps for AC and 1201 Mbps for AX. So far I don't see any device with more than 2x2 antenna configuration due to space constraint in the phone.

Upgrading router probably doesn't do any good as you are limited to 433 Mbps because:
1. Your phone only had 1x1 antenna configuration
2. Your phone only support up to AC

I changed my router from tplink archer AC1200 supplied by TM to Tplink AX5400 archer A73 which I bought. Previously my Samsung A51 can get 250mbps down. My unifi is 800mbps. Now with the new router can get 335mbps down. Increase from 250 to 335.

Now the problem is cannot connect to my Xbox Series S using lan cable to this new router. Previously with the old router was abled to using lan cable. Btw there was no problem connecting using WIFI with the new router. Help will be much appreciated. Thank u very much.

Did you connect the ethernet to the port that was meant for IPTV?

You could find out the port assignment in the router setting under the VLAN settings. Typically it's either 1 or 4. It seems like you had plugged it into port assigned for IPTV.

I didn't realized for the Archer A73 IPTV is Lan1 lol. I don't have IPTV cause my package comes with only Internet.
And I noticed Lan4 is VOIP. So only 2 Lan ports for internet use. 1 is for Xbox and the other for Desktop computer. I wanted to use Lan4 for Android TV but don't know how to configure for internet.

From the Emulator, it seems you could select it manually. Give it a try.
