Hello all! Read through the thread, so kinda shortlisted 2 routers: AC86U - cos faster usb transfer? and Blue Cave - cos newer and looks good My usage is more to: 1. 1desktop 2. 2 laptops 3. 3hp, 1 tab 4. 30+ smart home stuff (10 yeelights, rest is Xiaomi switches and sensors) 5. Xiaomi cameras 5 units 6. Smart TV, wireless sound bar 7. 3 Panasonic Aircon with WiFi control Using unifi 500mbps currently. No gaming, only YouTube, perhaps Netflix in the near future. Need to plug in a HDD to the modem for this? Any thoughts which to use? House single storey, long and narrow. So far the given unifi modem no issue reaching the furthest Aircon and sensors.

Hello sifus,
Maybe a stupid question. Instead of buying a pcie WiFi receiver, can I just buy a smaller router let's say ac68 (and use aimesh to connect to my ac86), and plug the LAN cable into it for internet. Does that work?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Dec 12 2019, 11:09 AM) Yup, but even a cheap PCIE WiFi receiver will perform better than RT-AC68U. Why would you want to do that? thinking putting the wifi repeater next to my desktop, and using cable since nearby. Main router in front of the house. Desktop way behind the house, with a repeater? If not logical then i stick to PCIE that was recommended PCE-AC58BT (the AC88 version very exp)

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Dec 12 2019, 03:14 PM) Using PCIE WiFi adapter will be a better ideaa. WiFi repeater should be somewhere in the midpoint for maximum effect. Get PCE-AX58BT instead. Ok, thanks for the advice. My asus rt-ac86u otw cos i bought during 12.12, good price at rm750. That also thanks to your advice previously

Hello all,
I am staying in a 80m2 single floor apartment, at 300 Mbps
I will have 10-20 IOT and few hand phones+ laptops. I am thinking between TP-Link Archer X72 Pro vs. AXE75.
Price wise not much difference from where I am located. Logical or overkill? AX55 was also in the pic, but...iot stuff scared kenot handle
Thank you
