Hi blacktubi, based on my reading on your website and want to confirm with you again, all Netgear router must set VLAN manually. Is it possible can tag HyppTV Vlan to other than primary WiFi? Thanks.

Yes, I do not try Netgear routers for a really long time now so I am not sure if they upgraded.

Only D-Link routers can tag VLAN to WIFI..

Ok. Thanks for the answer. thumbup.gif
Now, I'm using AC68U but cant achieve 800mbps on wifi.
Time to research about Dlink as I want the wifi function for HyppTV if possible.

Anyone can share their Unifi 30mbps settings for asus RT AC86U.
I got this router from china last year. I followed the auto settings online. Then the saw people solution to set LAN>unifi home. Other than that nothing manual. IP i saw is 192.168.50.x range.
Router system logs show PAP connection success (i think this is the unifi account authentication). Router led all white means should be working.
However Network  Map status still show no internet and status disconnect.
I used this router for TIME last time but now downgrade.
Anyone can screenshot their settings?

Go to LAN -> IPTV -> Select ISP Profile

Unifi - Home : if have Unifi TV / HyppTV
Unifi - Business : If no Unifi TV / HyppTV

whats a nice log! didnt know this model can breakdown transmission and receiving speed by client connection!  thumbsup.gif But the price!  cry.gif

Is there any other mid-range Asus model has similar log?

All Asus routers those are supported by Merlin only can use this feature.

Mid range supported : RT-AX56U, RT-AX3000 (RT-AX58U) and not TUF-AX3000,

Thanks.

I have read quite alot of thread since yesterday.
It seems better to use a good router for deadzone elimination rather than using mesh which could half the bandwidth.

I'm eyeing Asus RT-AX86U router, any comment? Do you think it really can extend the range greatly by using better router?

half bandwith but still enough until 600-800Mbps if you use triband router with using 160Mhz for channel bandwith .. Like mine using AX11000 as main and XT8 as node..

4804Mbps - full bandwith
2882Mbps - half bandwith at node (Xt8 1 and 2)

The common misconception about mesh WiFi is people are placing them too far apart.

The mesh node should be placed at somewhere with decent connectivity to the main router and rely on the WiFi signal from the mesh node to reach the target dead spot. Don't put the mesh node at the dead spot.

I will suggest maximum 2 brick walls (landed) or 1 reinforced concrete slab wall (condo) between main router and mesh node.

That's right.. dont put too far from main mesh router.. if dont want fronthaul wireless (5GHz-1) overlap, just reduce power at advanced setting - Tx power adjustment - (choose lower than performance)

Hi All sifus,

May i seek advise which router is enough to cover a 22x75 double storey 2200 sqft with typical layout 3 bed room upstairs , 1 guest room downstairs  ?
I am eying on 2 unit of ASUS ZenWiFi AX XT8, or any other recommendation that is good for a double storey ?

My thoughts is place 1 unit at downstairs living room and another one at upstairs 2nd living room some other details as below:

- Unifi package is 300 mbps not expect 300mbps at every corner but at least 100 to 200mbps with stable wifi connection ?
- 3 people in the house and each have laptops and mobile phones
- Not using smart home system
- Some home appliances may need wifi connectivity : Washing machine, 2 TVs(living room and master room).

300Mbps is easy to achieve when using XT8 unless your house layout is weird. The level of router also play the role by not placing 30cm near to the floor.

hi all

i have a 2 year old ASUS RT-AX82U 5400 WiFI 6 router.

right now i have like 25 devices connected to it. I have multiple WiFi switches, vacuum robot cleaner and many IP CCTVs.
the latest device is the Panasonic Aircond 1HP inverter WiFi. Location is just ~5 meters from the router but it's inside my study room.

before this, i could connect and use the Comfort Cloud app to remotely control the aircon.
but then, yesterday my Brother's wifi printer siuddenly couldn't print wirelessly, so I did a network reset on the printer.
But somehow, the printer is taking damn long to receive data and to print.

I end up disable the WLAN SSID on the printer and use direct cable printer instead. Much faster and reliable.

Ok, coming back to the aircon, now I could no longer control it via the app. At first, it says some Network error, please check with router etc etc.
Then i did a WiFi reset on the Aircond, and also reboot my ASUS AX82U router, also updated to the latest firmware.

Still cannot pair it using the app. bangwall.gif

I read the official manual, ASUS AX82U supposedly can cater up to max 250 devices at one time, which I call it BS!  vmad.gif

Now my questions are:

1. how many max devices can a consumer grade router can have before having lower bandwidth/device connectivity problem?
2. any good latest router that can cater at least ~50-60 devices without any problem?

thanks sifus!  notworthy.gif

You may try reboot the router first
