Looks like Intel is under pressure to take back the low and medium end from AMD..AMD's new Phenom (Agena) processor launch is imminent..and there's a high possibilty it may KO even the mighty Core 2 Quad.

I don't think so. Socket AM2+ is supposed to be backward compatible, though the Hypertransport speed will be downgraded (which actually has pretty much no effect on performance).
