I saw in shop got two version, the usual green bottle roundup, and yellow bottle roundup transorb.

Whats the difference? I see a.i. type and % also same.

shopkeeper was a new practical student, she also don't know difference. Owner was going out somewhere.
Looking around in internet also I can't seem to find a reliable info. just marketing mumbo jumbo from Monsanto.

Anyone know?

edit: solved.
Transorb variant is premixed with surfactant, but not sold here anymore. Whatever left in store is old stock.

The generic active content is Glyphosate. If both % are same, then there are the same.

Both are not generic brand. Its Monsanto Roundup. But differ in product name. As far the a.i, concerned yes both are 41% glyphosate.
I just want to know what is difference between the transorb and non-transorb variant. That can't be same.

Just buy any cheaper 41% Glyphosate generic. The effect is the same.
What type of grass you want to kill ? Glyphosate is a systemic herbicide, takes more than a week to see result but the grass die will till root level thus last longer. The disadvantage is it's not effective if use during raining days. Another type is contact herbicide Kills green surface on contact within hours but the root still good. No problem with rain after 2 hours. Example of contact herbicide is Paraquat.

Roundup is board spectrum selective herbicide. Depends on your target weeds, safety requirement and environment it could be the best choice.
I need to trim the edge of my lawn border (kampung house), so pretty much everything in the path are weeds. Most of woody plants wont be affected by roundup unless you put in Ally 20df in tank mix. And this thing is one of cheapest weed killer around for its rated toxicity.

But roundup is notorious for its resistance buildup, so I regularly change my tank mix to either Basta15(glufosinate), Ametryn+MSMA or Monex(Diuron+MSMA) at intervals to reduce that effect.

Dont think so. While the a.i is same, additives do make difference. I have tried Ecomax, its nowhere as effective as Roundup although the main composition is exactly the same thing and amount. I still have that 4L Ecomax that I barely used like 200ml, now collecting dust in garage.

Btw I just called a friend in lembaga racun, she said transorb line is premixed with surfactant, but for some reason it is not sold anymore in Malaysia. What I saw in the shop was quite old stock.

Umm.. at my place almost every hardware shop will sell roundup (in addition to cheaper generics).
But my favourite is PPK (pertubuhan peladang kawasan) agriculture input shop.

Be sure you look at manufacture date. Don't buy if it is older then 2 years.
