You don't need a 1080p screen to watch 1080p videos.

Does your 768p/1080p/1440p monitor able to watch 4K YouTube videos? Of course you can. It just downscales to fit the resolution its in. And it works exactly the same on the XR.
With that logic technically the Note 9 cannot watch 4K videos since the screen is not 4K.

As someone who's had the XR for 2 days it really doesn't really matter the screen isn't full HD. The ppi is at 326 and I literally cannot distinguish individual pixels.
Texts look sharp, video looks clear, colours look wonderful.

If you think it's not worth the money for not being a full HD display, there's many other options out there.
I'm sure you'll be happy with those phones.

Ya, admittedly the bezels of the Xr are more obvious and thicker but other than that, I think the screen is just fine!

Also having seen the black, white, red and blue ones in real life now, I’d pick red and white a close second!

But when it comes to the recent iPhone XS review he just totally lost all credibility.

as long as the content is not lower resolution than the display, it will never look bad. it is the same case as last time TV broadcast is in standard definition, but i do not really find it so bad.
but if it is to display SD content on HD or FHD or 4k display now, it will look bad.

I’m all for having different opinions, I think it’s great and it projects on things that apple can improve on.
