KOTA BHARU 12 Sept. – Keputusan Kerajaan Pas Kelantan membeli kereta kenderaan mewah jenama Mercedes-Benz bagi kegunaan pegawai tertinggi adalah satu keperluan.

Timbalan Menteri Besar, Datuk Mohd. Amar Nik Abdullah berkata, kos penyelenggaraan kenderaan itu juga jauh lebih murah berbanding kenderaan jenama lain.

Menurutnya, setakat ini sebuah kereta jenama itu sudah dibeli bagi kegunaan Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri, Datuk Nazran Muhammad.

“Kita beli ini (Mercedes-Benz) sebab keperluan kerana kereta sedia ada sudah melebihi tempoh. Kalau dikira daripada segi peraturan, selepas tempoh lima tahun boleh ditukar, itupun ada kereta yang sudah mencecah 10 hingga 12 tahun.

“Beli Mercedes ini juga bukan isu sebab sejak zaman arwah Tok Guru (Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat) lagi kita sudah beli. Kita beli juga sekadar kemampuan bukan semua tukar, baru sebuah kereta sahaja. Malah, kos penyelenggaraan jauh lebih murah berbanding jenama Toyota dan Honda,” katanya di sini hari ini.

Pengerusi Pakatan Harapan (PH) negeri, Husam Musa semalam mendakwa Kerajaan Pas Kelantan membuat pembelian sekurang-kurangnya sebuah kenderaan mewah jenama Mercedes-Benz untuk kegunaan pegawai tertingginya.

Menurut Husam, pembelian kenderaan tersebut dipercayai dibuat pada tahun ini dan perkara itu menimbulkan persoalan memandangkan keadaan kewangan kerajaan negeri ini adalah tidak begitu memberangsangkan. –UTUSAN ONLINEsos

Government and corporate companies buy cars like these on corporate rate and it could be inclusive of maintenance and what not; depending on how the company quote them. I’m not surprised MB is willing to go all out slashing price and giving free maintenance just so that they can get the deal.

But then Mercedes is 350K. Honda is 160K.
Let says you service it 5 times a year and honda service is say 1K per service and that is being very very generous.

How much is the price difference between honda and merc again??? Oh ya 190k!!!!!

And it will be cheaper

Under similar circumstances
Local products like proton perdana will cost less
Than Mercedes

There’s no quotation / proposal shown here. Unless we see the government’s tender specification and what each company quote, no way we can tell whether it is indeed cheaper or not.

But for all I know, it could be cheaper. Depending how hungry the company wants the deal and what’s their strategy once they ink the deal.

Lets focus on fact

Fact is
Mercedes-Benz cost more than proton
Price wise
Maintenance wise
Road tax wise
Repair wise.

When state govt buys cars, do they have to pay taxes? What Merc Benz model Kelantan bought?

Honda Accord 2.4 VTI-L costs rm129k in langkawi
Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 costs RM135k in langkawi

If merc gives 4 years maintenance like the other person shared and plus any corporate prices.. they could be getting a better deal w Merc

My point is, the difference of car price between Honda and merc is the same as the difference in maintenance?
Even if u spend 10k per year for Honda and 0 cents per year for merc you can still save a lot if u go with Honda.
And btw Toyota maintenance is much cheaper than Honda.

Thats why I looked at langkawi prices.. because they are tax exempted..

For all I know, they could’ve covered all those in their deal with the government.

My previous co. did a 3 months study
for a government agency and we charged a measly 300k with only 5% margin. We still did it because we see a strategic intent in it.

You’ll never know unless they show you what’s inked in the proposal and agreement.
