I do overclock my laptop last time. Default frequency is 1.60GHz. Highest stable clock reached is 2.0GHz; 1.036V. Temperature of processor reached 89C. Fan duty is 80%, as reported by embedded controller. It was way too hot and noisy to be turned on all day long.
My usual everyday clock is 1.76GHz@1.084V. Temperature reaches 84C at full load. Fan load is 50-60%, depending on room temperature. Makes lots of difference when folding. Slight increase in performance when gaming.
Now, I'm back to default clock speed to reduce noise from fan. 1.60GHz@ 1.036V. Temperature is about 69 to 76C.
IMHO, I think it's not really worth to overclock a laptop. It produces a lot more of heat, for a small increase of performance.
