I assume this will be living and dining hall, The total amount of downlight you have is sufficient. But if I were you i'll shift more light towards dining hall, and reduce it on living hall.

I don't think you need. If you feel it is dark when you started living in, you can always change to a higher wattage lamp.
Another thing is that lights is better to be measure in lumens instead of watt.

Each light 940 lumen. Earlier i plan additional 2 in hall n 2 in dining. But wireman says 4 plus 4 is enuff.

For me, that's more than enough lights. Probably a bit too bright for my liking

what i do is i have wall lights or stand lights for normal usage, and 4 strong downlights natural or cool temp for occasions that needed bright lit lights.

I'm using exactly the same Philip meson led downlight 900 lumen but with 4k color temperature. Roughly same layout as yours. 6 nos of downlight for living and dining, 2 nos 6.5k color temperature for kitchen. Bright enough for me.

I have got standby extra 4k bulbs in case the 6.5k does not blend well. Maybe the dining use 4k.

For dining, i do have a separate pendant light but that is for the lighting effect.

Funny thing with meson series, the 4 inch and 6 inch have the same light output which is 900 lumen lol but 6 inch is more expensive sweat.gif .

There is a downlight in that position circle red yes? Your hanging light is just beside the downlight? Purpose of the hanging light?

Nope. No down light there. Just hanging light. The yellow spots r lighting points.

That spot is facing my dry kitchen cabinet.

Defining no of switches to control which sets of downlights is important as well as it gives you the ability & flexibility to balance, in case the ambience is too bright if all the lights are switched on.

Without a downlight, that spot will be dim though. Hanging light is for deco/lighting effect. What about the other lighting point facing the dry kitchen? Suggest u have downlight for that position, hanging light in the middle between the 2 lighting points facing your dry kitchen? With downlights, at least your dry kitchen will be bright enough.

Ok.
Schneider has recently launched a new type of switch ... AvatarOn (a designer switch) which is cheaper than Pieno.
Or you can consider smart switch like Aqara.
