Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have agreed not to talk about each other to the media unless they are both present. The move comes after a couple of weeks in which conflicting reports in the British and Spanish media have suggested there is a major rift developing between the two.


"We get on really well," Hamilton said. "But his media in Spain are trying to twist things and I think it's the same for me with some of the British media. We're very supportive towards each other and while we're very competitive and both want to win we have a lot of respect for each other."

"We have never fallen out," he insisted. "Even after my win on the weekend, Fernando congratulated me."

"At the moment we've decided it would be better if when we speak about each other, we are both present because otherwise you end up reading something in the papers that someone might have twisted," he added. "I wouldn't be negative about Fernando because I've got a lot of respect for him."

F1's current championship leader Lewis Hamilton has said he might have to move out of Great Britain so he will be able to move around without being recognised too much in public. It will be the only way for F1's latest superstar to protect his privacy.


"It's just getting worse and worse," he told Reuters about getting recognised in the streets. And thus the 22-year-old Briton might has to move to another country, for example Monaco, to live a more relaxed life. "When you don't have any privacy, it's going to be extremely tough, so it might be something I have to do."
