Anyone experiencing phone automatically changed to battery saver mode?
It happened to me last night.
It was discussed here too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/9...on_today_for_a/

It's quite concerning what google can do to the phone remotely

Syndrome: phone not charging when plugged in the original fast charger

Diagnose: using the normal usb A to usb C cable and Xiaomi powerbank, it works. Not phone usb port problem.

Do a quick google search, a lot of people having the same problem, and what they did is send for RMA and exchange.

Then I reboot the phone and try again, not working.

Then I disable developer setting, reboot and try again, it works.

Suspect: Before this happened I use the original usb c to 3.5mm female dongle to plug in my headphones, it didn't work, a lot of users of Pixel 2 XL also having the same problem, so I suspect this messed up the setting for the phone to use fast charge by the original adapter

After that I never tried the usb c to 3.5mm female dongle again, not sure it is working or not after I disabled the developer setting.

Hope this will help for those is experiencing the same problem smile.gif

I second this. Gurvin is a saviour. Next after that is how careful you protect your phome with that new screen. Me, I went with i-blazon armor box immediately after screen replacement.

Btw, congratulations for migration to v2, people.

Pretty amusing how even the pro-Apple folks at Verge admit that the (close to 1 year old) Pixel 2 still edges the new iPhone XS in computational photography with HDR+ in most (if not all) day and night photo scenarios.

Here's to hoping that the Oct 9 reveal of the Pixel 3 raises the stakes even higher for both photo and video quality for others to play catch up.

It's like the only reason I'm still holding my OG 1st Gen Pixel XL, the camera simply so good.

I know Pixel 3 is launching soon but do you guys think it's still worth it to get a Pixel 2 XL? Currently considering between this and a S9+. Even with a 1 year old hardware, the Pixel 2's camera is amazing!

IMO yes, consider the price now quite low ( RM2749 for 128GB ). I wont upgrade for 2 reason, left one year official OS update from Google, and no headphone jack sad.gif

Are you using the 1st gen Pixel XL? How's the performance after 2 years? Any noticeable lags?

Noticeable lag, randomly once or twice per week, happened after Pie ( during P beta also ), nothing serious.
Slow charging speed hit me hard though, as I only bring USB cable to office, and charging speed are slow as hell ( 2 hours from 50% to 100% vmad.gif ) Google said to fix 'soon'.

I was in the same dilemma 2 months ago. Pixel 2 XL vs S9+
End up getting the Pixel. Previously was using the S8+ (getting laggy overtime) and before that the iphone X (too small)
User experience is important for me. I would say the Pixel is the closest you can get for the smoothness of iOS. With Android Pie, it is embracing it even more with the gestures functionalities.
The only thing I missed is the Samsung's display. Still find the S8/S9 plus's display to be superior to the Pixel.
Hopefully we can have an upgraded display for Pixel 3 and I will get it for the best of both world.

Yeah too bad Google use LG's P-OLED instead of Samsung's AMOLED in their Pixel 2 XL phones. Samsung is really the leader in mobile phone display by a mile. I went from an S8 to an iPhone 8 Plus. My god the iPhone's display is ugly.

But have you tried the Saturated mode in the latest update? Still not even close to Samsung's display?
