Go for auto foaming and soundproofing lo. Then change to quieter tyres. Then most cars also quiet.

Yea the tyres are definitely a big source of the noise - I have actually done sound proofing for my Vios (Sound deadening applied to roof, doors, bottom carriage and engine compartment), and coincidentally at the time I had to change out my Continental tyres to Michelin ones.

Together at the time it helped reduce the Noise by about 15% (12db) using my phone as a measurement tool and subjectivity I could definitely hear an improvement.

Things we're quite pleasant, however after almost 40k now the tyre roar is back for revenge! Still a healthy amount of thread left so no reason to change them out.

I was hoping if there is a car within my budget that has good sound insulation that will last, I am definitely willing to pay for a comfortable ride.

Which Michelin tyre model you currently using? Guessing Vios size would be...XM2? This is not quiet tyre tho, correct me if I wrong 6UE5T
Michelin quiet and comfort tyre is Primacy 3ST or Primacy 4, which doesn't have standard Vios size. Yokohama just launched AspecDB V552, said to be most quiet Yokohama tyre ever built. I'm eyeing this but also not available for Vios size, too bad...

If noise and comfortable. Then d segment is the answer. Unfortunately the most comfortable d segment which is nissan teana and toyota camry had been quite long in the market and due to be facelifted/replace later.

The newest d segment car is mazda 6. 2.0 can get 156k, but im not sure its noise is ok or not, but comfort must be good.

Go test drive one. If ur budget is rm150k, dont waste time searching c segment. D segment is king for long distance cruising.

my choice for you, a recon lexus GS with good mantainance record, no flood no accident car

it is a 400k car launching, you can own one wihin 60k to 100k

find a expert to inspect before buying, a lexus will not disappoint you on nvh perspective

If not Renault Fluence.

I'm driving a 2012 Elantra, the traffic noise is minimal and it's quite quiet inside, but do hear wind noise and road noise when driving pass 100km/h. Did some sound proofing few months ago and it gets 'quieter', road noise reduced, traffic noise reduced but wind noise still there but only comes in when driving around 110km/h(better than last time 100km/h)
