They are digging a hole to bury themselves in. The harder they make things for buyers, the more people would move on to other platforms.

My orders has been stuck at the damn sorting centre of CityLink for 6 days now. We'll see how long they are going to take to actually deliver it.

I am aware that Shopee no longer allow buyers to choose shipping option. From what I understand is sellers can actually toggle which delivery service is best for them and their buyers.
Using FMCO as an excuse is really meh.

I've been buying stuff from Shopee and Lazada this past year all throughout MCO, CMCO, RMCO and now FMCO and never had anything that took longer than 5 days. Even stuff that are shipped from China and Korea. Most local deliveries only take between 1-2 days, max 3 days.

Never before has it taken a whole week with no update on top of that. Shopee is just digging a hole for themselves when they choose to reduce cost by choosing subpar delivery services that cannot cope with the demand.

Btw, CityLink has fucked up way before this change in Shopee. If you go on their FB page, you'll see a lot of comments asking for their parcels that has been stuck since forever.

Ultimate jackpot is CityLink.

My experience with CityLink so far is one sat at their sorting facility for a week til I called them to check, complain to Shopee then only the escalated delivery.

Now another package existence is unknown because the last update was 9 days ago and it's still at the drop off point. Complaint to seller and Shopee already. Requested for refund it's long past delivery date. So now they are investigating and say will provide an update in 3-5 days.
