these are BNM regulations

Why doesn't Lazada pay require the information then? Whether these are BNM regulations, I'm not sure. That's what Shopee says only.
Every E commerce website can have their own t&c and can simply put.
BNM is a basic regulation , they can follow or not to follow by providing some strong finance reason or when they apply the wallet before BNM comes up with the regulation or they confront to request BNM lifting up some regulation to keep user info safety ?
but on Shope prefer to collect more on user details because they plan to expend their wallet base system until they reach top 10.You know shope is under
wechat pay company.QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Oct 11 2020, 12:42 AM)
my guess is something to do with the withdrawal/transfer feature to prevent money laundering.
BNM is a basic regulation on e purchase.Simple to say , every withdraw from user/seller , a company need to record into account down their details as finance statement and submit to tax regulation.
So even on laz or shope or other online platform using wallet need user details when withdraw. All in/out must have a trace.
Most ewallet like t&g and boost and others not allow withdraw to prevent money laundering.

That depends on the terms and conditions set by Shopee. Legally though, based on norms, this is unacceptable. Just like buying something from supermarket. Once you make payment, there's a contract. The supermarket can't come back and say, oh the pricing is wrong, here's your money, please return the goods.
Normally shope could do that because
they say so.Actually , the case is your $ is still not yet account into seller and only kept in wallet.I am not sure but even CC will take 1 month to get transfer back to the shop.
It's their mistake and shope must accept their mistake of loses on pricing error on voucher. This is not the 1st time of voucher error and refund iirc.
Do they return back the free shipping/coins and etc ? if not you can make a complain.
If we found they are doing this tactic as marketing , report to mcmc.In other words , they are luring buyer to topup shope pay , then later cancel buyer item and $ return back to shope pay.
If you topup using CC to shope pay.Withdraw = banned.
So $ will keep forever at shope pay.Shope benefits all ?
If there are more than 100 reports to MCMC on shope , surely will take action
QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Oct 11 2020, 12:57 AM)
that may be true, we have to lodge complain
KPDNHEP, KKMM, MCMC is the only way. This is a valid reason as a fake promotion to trick buyer to bank in money to shope pay.
Those feel like cheated please lodge a complain or you can phone to mcmc to tell them.
