You're welcome.

I just went to see DR. How on this morning. Changed the wire to thicker a bit on lower teeth. Also put 6 holes power chain on lower teeth as well. So far so good, not really pain. Oya, he took my teeth photo as well. smile.gif

X-ray is to view clearly how the teeth is align and any hidden teeth inside the gum.. without x-ray, i didn't see any advantage beside save $ lo.. I rather to take x-ray to pre-check before spent $$ on the braces.

Nowaday, self-ligating braces like Damon system will no need to remove teeth unless your teeth is overlapping/no space to move. Tranditional baces is no matter how, you also need to remove 4 teeth.

Advantage of Self-ligating (Damon 3):
-Extraordinary smiles and faces
-Faster treatment time
-No extractions (remove teeth) in most cases
-Greater comfort without tightening
-Fewer visits (complete faster)

You better ask the Dr. what system he quote you for MYR 6k++, Don't get cheat ya smile.gif

Here got so many people using different system and different prices. After you checked with Dr., you can post here.. We may able to give you 2 cent of advices/ sharing info.. smile.gif

At night, when side sleep, the saliva will flow out sometime.. blush.gif Not sure you guys have this issue or not.. pei sei.. Now, the teeth is better, no more this issue smile.gif

Yup, agreed with KentCP..
Xrays are needed to actually see whether there are ny hidden teeth as well as ur teeth's alignment.

One thing I've noticed for sure is that, the orthodontist needs an Xray for those who wanted to put on braces because one of the major problem caused while having orthodontic treatment is the position of your wisdom tooth and it will caused alot of problems if its malpositioned or are impacting on other tooth.

In my case,I'm using the Damon 3 System. Yup, it cost a lot more than the traditional braces and i do not have to go through any extractions.Experience only a lil' discomfort as compared to my friends =)

hope this info helps!!

Have a great day =)

I actually think have the habit of clenching my teeth when i sleep, without realizing. Then last night, i think i clenched again. Then i will wake up from sleep, feeling a bit pain/numb there at my lower teeth. Then i end up sleeping with my mouth open (relax) to prevent myself from clenching my teeth again.

I forgot to ask dr that how long i hav to have the stopper for... Kentcp, how long u had yours for?

When you mentioned clenching.. i believe i have the same too.. i always awake in the middle of night and release my teeth..i afriad i clenching my teeth till deep inside my gum tongue.gif silly thinking hor.. on other way, ya .. it will feel a bit pain/numb..

For my case, i had the bite stopper for 2 or 3 months.. about the 2 /3 visit only remove la.. Nikki, Dr will tell you that he is not sure one.. because he need to check on your condition on every month to see the improvement. When it allign to what it suppose, Dr will remove it for you. However, he will inform your the status on every visit..

Pictures........

FYI, i installed my upper jaw on 4th Oct 08

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

As you all can see, i cant bite. My jaws are separated by the bite stopper (white color). Then also 6 spacers in my upper (blue color).
I think my treatment is a bit slow cos my teeth are stubborn and takes a long time to move. But however, i can already see result after two months.
As seen in pictures, my front upper teeth are slowly aligned now. icon_rolleyes.gif
