I am getting my braces next Tuesday. Can I know whether I am able to return to work the next day? Or should I take leave? How do you eat at work since not everywhere sells porridge?

3. wats the difference bet  damon,ceramic,lotus-i see these terms on the thread but dont know wat they are.

For this part,Lotus not the upgrade version for Damon..Lotus is another brand,also same as damon self-ligating metal braces..
The version of Damon are Damon 3,3MX and Q...as u said bmw 3,5,7series.

How long does it usually take for the gaps to close?  have extracted two teeths on the upper part and thinking how long would it take before it closes

For people that dono,lingual braces is metal braces that fixed behind ur teeth..invisalign is clear and removable teeth aligner,and this cost 16k I asked before.

NikkiDaTeddy, during the treatment to correct gummy smile, did Dr change the power chain during every appointment?

but 16k is abit too over..unless u very rich or smthg for star/singer/model..treatment without affect their career.

NikkiDaTeddy, does it hurt for you everytime doctor change the power chain? I am so afraid of pain actually... and just had the screws in lately...

Thanks for your reply kent. I've been feeling very down today, don't know how much more I have to go through, and there's no one to rant to because they don't know the uncomfort. But its true, the side of my mouth hurts so bad. It will be okay in a weeks time ? Besides wisdom extraction & screws, later on, what else will hurt more than this?

Hey Nikki, maybe its just my mind, when I keep thinking of how I have those stitches in my mouth and the screw is so bothering ! I have the extraction and screw on the same side, so I can't pinpoint which one is giving me the swelling. I must admit yesterday's process wasn't painful and even until the anaesthetic wore off.

However, I just dont know how to go through that again, extract 2 on my left side & insert 3 screws. Its like a tougher battle you know! And I have to do this by late feb because then my uni starts. So dilemma. I dont think I can do my next extraction in 2 weeks time  :' Even now when I swallow food, I can feel a lil bit of pain near my throat, where the wisdom was extracted.

Heh I'm trying hard to keep up with good oral hygiene but I'm so afraid to brush the screw & shakily I manage to attach wax to it this morning! Oh God, please tell me I'm a sissy and that I need to be more brave !

I also used to easy get ulcer type. The Chinese watermelon poweder is no work for me. Until i found a medicine called "Oral Aid Lotion", just a small drop, it will relief your pain in min for temporary and it cure the ulcer in few days. (normally my ulcers can last for week)

i seriously don't mind my gummy smile, i dont need a perfect set of teeth, i just want that i no longer have deep bite. is it ok if i dun put the screws since i have very limited budget? i feel like i would be recommended to get the screws too by reading all the posts here

Hey people, how would you know if ur screw gets loose ya ? Suddenly today I feel like its abit sensitive ! Dont know if its getting loose or what =/

No worry on all your previous issue. Dr. How have good facility, they have another suction pipe place inside your mouth to suck away all the water, so you will feel comfort during the filling.

Few days ago, i just went to Dr. klinik due to one of retainer broken when I try to remove it on morning. Dr. How is not around, so, attended by Raymond. He is another nice guy and patient to explain what and how he going to do. He is expert on filling, as i have a small gap on side, caused the food always stuck. He said he has confident to resolve it with remove out my old filling and remove with the "teeth color" type of filling and it done perfectly.

Bear in mind, not every dentist can do braces. The persons who help patient install braces must study the orthodontic and get certified. However, there is some dentist may just study but didn't able to pass the certified exam, still perform the work. This is the risky to the patient. Some still not enough experience, as this kind of work need a lot of case study and experience. I trust Dr. How because he been did more than thousand patient and many year experience. Besides that, during my conversation with him, his study result always on top score. Nowaday, he is busy not only in malaysia. Some other country also invite him to provide workshop and training, etc.

I believe this is why he bring in Raymond. I don't have much info about him but i am happy the way he did on my last visit.

I have remove my braces for 6 months!! so so happy with the result and never regret to do it!

only thing is my teeth get yellowish after taking off the braces..but stil Happy cos i have straight n nice set of teeth!!

hi all! havent been here for quite sometime as well. 100+ pages!! fuhhh~
ok a little updates from me. i've been braced for 2years and 3 months. i still have a little gap at my upper right jaw. when to take the braces off? seriously i have no idea. dr how said soon but i just dont want to be pushy by keep asking when and when. i have no plan to get married soon so i guess im fine

Nikki & Tomatonz, do you guys really eat normally and comfortably with the mini screws on ? For me, even until now (after 2-3weeks), I still can't really chew on my right side (where the screw is). God, I don't know whats gonna happen when I insert one more on my left side. Totally no need to eat already !

Tomatonz & Nikki : Oh no wonder you guys have no problems eating !! My screw is inserted at 45 degree angle in between my last two back tooth. These are the tooth I use to chew meat and all. So when I start chomping, the hard meat will hit the top of the screw and I'll feel the pain !

Tomatonz : Haha it's doing good at all times except the eating part. I hardly get ulcers from it, so I do not use dental wax ^^
