May I ask, is there any other way besides than doing braces to fix ur teeth??
At first, when i was around form 1 or 2..my teeth was nice..Then when the wisdom tooth started to grow..I think not enough space..My lower jaw, those teeth moved in and out!!! Everyday wake up, shocked of my life cuz my tooth will move slowly slowly until not nice liao..haihz...
I'm now 20 years old, if I do braces now..seems scary doing braces cuz will need a few years..
Then if i do it now..these few years I'll have to face many people..college...plus the pain...
And I love to eat!!! I can't imagine if i have to painfully enjoy my food..
You know..those reality US tv show..example like America's Next Top Model..
They sent those girls to fix their teeth..within a few days..their teeth look perfect..(so jealous)
I don't think they have it here in Malaysia?

if you wearing braces before, then you will get what i mean..

People like us who wearing braces, the teeth movement is just a bit by a bit from day to day..that already caused us can bite any hard food (eg. meat)

So, to fix it in very short time, what i can think off is extract all teeth and inplant it..should able to fix in a month?


20 year is old meh ? ( i am even old la.. but don't ask my age ) Nowaday, people is accepting braces compare to last time. No one will say anything on your braces, as one day your teeth will straight than them. If you want fast (9 month ~ ~24 month depend on your teeth condition) then look for Self-Ligating braces (eg. Damon 3 system). It's expensive than tranditional braces but it's less pain and treament time is shorter.

Think of it I am using Damon system, just around 5 months, my upper teeth already straight.. now is fine tune and closing gap. Oya, also waiting lower teeth to straight, as it just fix the brace on 3 months ago.

wah..congrates Kentcp..my upper teeth oso straight liao.now just waiting close the gap..its 5th month,i think...last week i went to extract 5tooths..(3wisdom tooth,2 normal upper tooths)..and installed a screw...all cost me rm1k+ ..but,the process not pain at all..oni the purse and heart feel the pain

wahhh....my teeth upper teeth also straight...just need to go in further and close gap....and oh yeah...will extract 2 teeth at the upper side next week......hopefully can remove bite stop...beh tahan...thin like dunno what liao...

No worries... a lot of people start having braces at about 20 some-things... some more it's not as ugly as u think... In fact, wearing braces is like a status like that u know... a lot of my fren say I'm rich because I wear braces...

I have seen those show... they remove the teeth, than they put implant... implant cost much more $$$$ than braces loh.... some more have to drill hole in the gums....



Anyhow, yesterday Doctor installed "Power Chain" on my braces. It's a rubber band that is supposed to quicken the movement of the teeth. After installing, terus feel pain ooooo..... No need to wait the next day.....

Added on August 13, 2008, 9:14 pmOh.! that's called "Power Chain" ah ? i also have on upper teeth..across about 5 teeths.. then another vertical (same type of rubber band) to pull my upper teeth to screw. can imagine ?

Then lower teeth, there is a metal string from right side of screw to center of lower teeth then to right side of screw. complicated le I don't think you guy need in this way la.. is just custom to my teeth situation.

i seriously cannot imagine ...dont even know whats power chain or the rubber band looks like...have to wait till my turn...but then its like so many things in your mouth...laweh...headache...looks like i`m the slowest one...u all already reach so many step...mine only extracting teeth step...wah....so many more to go...

i use innovation-C..will they install the power chain in mine as well?
now,when i smile..can see 2 black hole at the side corner of my mouth..
so,better senyum senyum kambing laa..

I'm not sure with what you call as "vampire teeth".. but as far as I understand is, 'vampire teeth' is when the two "gigi taring" (forgot what it's call in English liao ) grow too high up compared to other teeth. I used to have vampire teeth too, and after wearing the braces, it's all straight and nice...

I think you worry too much la... why not you just make an appointment with a orthodontist and ask his opinion?? We here also can give opinion and encouragement only... we aren't experts.... I suggest you go & find an orthodontist...

Hi everyone
I dont know if my sharing is relevant but here goes!

I put on my braces in late 2006 at Damansara Uptown.
It was Rm150 for X ray
I had a choice of either the
normal one( with rubberbands RM4k),
Damon System ( all metal - RM4.7k) or
Damon System ( half clear half metal - RM5.7k ).

I opted for DS RM4.7k.
So I had to pay upront rm1.5k then every mth installment fee would be rm150.

I was lucky coz I didnt hv to extract any tooth ( i had rabbit tooth and abit congested on the upper jaw). I would recommend the Damon System because i hardly had any pain. Only the first week a lil hard to bite hard things, and the sides of my mouth( what do you call this?! haha) sometimes get stuck on the brackets( but no pain just slight annoyance).

My teeth got straight pretty quickly abt 5 mths perhaps. Then the dentist put the rubber bands to move my teeth faster. After that all i had to do was wait, month after month till all my teeth looks straight. I took out my braces after 1.5yrs ( which is pretty alright).

I know some of you are scared to put on because we're starting coll etc.
Yeah sometimes i felt embarassed when go clubbing or meet new ppl coz I was the only braces girl but actually it doesnt matter. If you think about it, it is an investment for the future. You look like the only braces girl at the club/mall/work/college but after 2 yrs you'll have straight teeth all your life! ( but must wear retainers la lol).

Now my teeth is straight but sometimes i lazy to wear retainers lol.
But then i notice my teeth look like moving again so must keep reminding myself to wear hahha.

wahh...saturday appointment hor...Dr changed to thicker wire for upper teeth and put that yellow rubberband thingy on 4 teeth on the upper teeth and 8 teeth at the lower teeth. pain pain ohhhhhhhh.....and put that freaking bite stop...wei...forever one la mine...y Dr never take it off...so kelian...cannot eat!!!...

just went for a cheak up at dentist, he didnt change anything on my bracers but put extra rubber on my tiger teeth

but supricingly i can eat normaly (except i cant use my front teeth la)

Welcome to the club but i just removed the bite stop.. no worry la.. is not forever.. u will keep fit
