hey hey.. welcome to braces, once again

its okay, we all undergo the ugly face, and sooner, you will transform, from ugly to pretty smile! braces rocks!!

i remembered after i had braces, i have assam laksa(change the assam laksa mee to kui tiao), because i had FOUR biji of bite stoppers at my upper front teeth. i wasnt able to bite, at all! so and i cant really bite, can only telan. so during that period, im really good in telan food

but the bite stoppers were removed 2 months ago..hehe!

No worries, porridge or noodles won't be any prob at all. Keow teow soup k?

not pain at all?glad to hear that..but my case is i need to install screw in my gums...tonite gonna find doctor.. hope everything gonna be fine

my stomach keep on drumming, yet i oni able ate sum bread with swallow n a cuppa of milk... mouth had ulcer significant ady ..

how i wish i can open my mouth during working time so tat bracket wun hurt my lips..

can you give me Dr How's contact number and the location/address?

haha, i had ulcer before as well. use dental wax, it helps a lottttt!!

actually, a lot of things you can eat. like, tofu, fish, egg(all type of egg, fried egg, steam egg, etc), kui tiao, mi hun, mee, spaghetti, milk, juices, etc)

my fav food since nov till now is FISH and TOFU! haha!! oh ya, i used to drink fresh blended fruit juice as well. coz "telan" is not good for stomach, hard to digest and it turns out, i faced constipation. after drinking juices, oh great! my life is back to normal! haha!

know what. after i went braces, straight away i need to take photo for some sort of application. then only i realised, i dont know to smile with braces. and no doubt, my photos came out extremely ugly because of my weird mouth/smile..

why do you need screw? is it because you have gummy smile?

normally screw was installed together with the braces or doctor will see if I need it or not during my braces progress?

I did mine with Dr Reuben in White Smile. Quite a lot of patients, but it looks like patient don't wait long. I think he is from Korea? Very happy with the result My braces finished already quite a long time ago.... His nurse keeps calling me for retainer checks. Unlike my friend's no charge for retainer unless u break it or lose it. The payment plan is very clear and simple, no hidden charge. My friend complain about hidden charge a lot from other clinics. In d end her treatment cost 1000+ more than whitesmile......Some of my friends travel from Singapore to visit dis guy....

Thanks livon6699... im trying very hard to adapting it now...putting on braces can change healthy lifestyle.. eat more fruits and soft fruits.. haha..

ya im using the gel wax to put on the bracket.. already use 1 batang .. duno how i am going survey with the 3 batang left in 1 month time..
where can buy the gel wax beside dentist?

Hi everyone! I didn't know there's such topics about braces.

I have ugly teeth and my family couldn't afford for sending me to the orthodontist to get my teeth fixed due to some financial issues.

Now I'm after college, thinking maybe I can save up some money to get my teeth done. Anyone can recommend any cheap and good dentist/ortho, or maybe some really nice and kind dentist/ortho who will provide flexible payment terms?

no la...coz dr,how said i got hereditary protruding gum..so it cause my side profile not very good..if i wan perfect result..den he said put screw will be better:)and faster...

but cant deny that both of the doctor are really professional and friendly...
never to regret to choose them as my ortho:)

but still worry about the pain:(

Woah...initially when Dr installed screw for me was bcos of gummy smile. Then recently shifted the screws to the back to pull back my upper jaw. In this case, same like you lo...

Ah...dun worry, When i move the screws to the back, Dr gave me one day MC for that day itself. Next day back to work. Eat porridge, keoy teow soup on you first few days...then will be ok.

i went to dr how today, was rescheduled to today, from 18.5.. and dr how basically repositioned all brackets of mine, and put back the wire, and in the middle of the process, dr how asked if my concern is, to extract teeth or not to extract. i said, yea! and he said, i have open bite, and what he can do is, try to reposition all the brackets and see how my teeth go.. if at last, this still cannot be changed, i might need to extract my tooth/teeth.. and Dr Raymond(dr how helped me to put all the brackets back, and also lower wire, and Dr Raymond helped me to put back my upper wire) said that because my mouth is small, jaw is small, and i have a lot of teeth. that's why. Dr How did say, this time, my teeth sure feel even pain/sore than last time. Dr Raymond when putting back my wire also said, just look at how the brackets go, he already can know, i can feel even pain/sore..sigh!

sighhh.. i don wish my healthy teeth to be sacrifised again >.<i feel veryx100 sore right now! hope the sore goes off within 2 days! T_T

by the way, my inner elastic is off..

im not sure if he is doing the best already. coz it seems like the problem is not on his skill, is on my teeth, after he repositioned :'( i go and search about open bites. normally open bites need to correct by jaw surgery.. n it seems scary. i hope my teeth go well, teeth ar teeth, gambate!

this is the inner elastic. one of my teeth arent up right. doctor made some sort of "bracket" inside, and hang an elastic there.. upper to inner.. so i call it inner elastic..

Cos we dunno how to answer. I'm sure most of the ortho now provide installment payment.

As for cheap and nice ortho. I'm unsure. Cos i rather pay a bit more for assurance. Its installment anyway.

Mollai, where r u from? i think dentists nowaday provide installments plan for orthondotic. U may go to the dental to survey & get more information lo..

mine will be install in the back of gum...beside molr teeth..

u pain for how many days?

Actually a bit pain on the first day only...then too much of numbness caused by the jab. Then on the next day, i barely feel any pain. But i still eat soft food and easy to swallon food.

Then abt the 3rd day, ulcer began to occur. Actually when u feel discomfort, u can always call up the clinic to check whether if its normal to feel that way. Cos at time we dun know. Just like Shenay she felt pain bcos the screws were not deep enough.

You better hav a talk with doctor first b4 he start putting things in your mouth. At least it will calm you down a bit. Then just ask questions on whatever your worries. Then i will feel less worries.
