Wow, i started my treatment b4 you and u alreday had ur teeth extracted. I think your treatment will complete way b4 me. But no matter what i'm glad. Cos my 3 months treatment now allowed me to witness the progress. Tho they are not well aligned yet but i see major improvements.
Even until now when i look at my before treatment pictures, i still get a shock on how horrible my teeth was. I regret that i only accept the treatment now at my age. That is my only regret.
Since the day i installed my 'new accessories', I never live a day not loving them. And i love the pain cos i know they are doing the job. Hahaha...
I started my treatment on Nov '08, few months after u... I think Dr. How asked me to extract teeth bcoz i dont have prob with my teeth alignment, they r all straight n nice... he said after extraction, he will start concentrating on pulling in my protruding teeth (yeah, ppl used to make fun of it)... and for that, i think thats why i extract teeth earlier than you... i had my braces installed both upper n lower jaw at the very same day... now, im not ashamed to have a wide smile and showing off all my teeth accessories... im getting used to it... but i just dont like when the first time frens or relatives discover my braces... im tired to answer all paparazzi-like questions and comments... huhuhuhu...
Oh yeah... nikki... just to tell u ahhh... last wiken, i had prosperity burger... kehkehkeh

. But i dint bite it, instead, cut it into smaller chunk and chew slowly... tadaaaaaa... phew... finally... thank God...

White_tulip, debrace ah... not sure le.. i asked Dr. that day.. he said" you are happy with your current condition already ah ?" i just smile and answer.."no la.. i just feel troublesome when having food..all the food stuck at my braces".. that's all. (my mind thinking, let you adjust to the perfect possible la..) i think may be few more month or a year.. i don't know le..
Yeah, we have spent alot for braces, ofcourse the Dr. and most importantly us, we want the result as perfect as possible... hehehe... nvr mind la kentcp, sooner or later, we will debrace ourself... looking forward that moment to come...

Nope. In my case, no extraction is required. From what i understand from my ortho, he mentioned that there's normally no extraction needed if you use the Damon system. But that varies with different individuals who uses the Damon type. Extraction will be needed if your teeth condition is wayyy to crowded..This is to make space for your teeth to move.

My extraction is on this THurs!!Â
Hmm...my Dr. said i need to extract 4 teeth but she didnt mention that Damon doesnt require to extract so much unless the condition is too bad. Cos at that time I havent decide which type of braces I wana do...Â

Â
Hope no extraction need to be done for me ler...Â

Too crowded, too bad, too serious (define serious

) are probs where Dr. will decide whether to extract teeth or not... another thing that a Dr. looks for is how wide ur jaw is able to accomodate all teeth... my ortho said my teeth are consider not serious, but my jaw is too small... so he gave me 2 options where (1) install screw but teeth gap I will get is max 5mm only, and the result will be just a normal one, or (2) extract 4 teeth, and the result will be superb...
Thus, i chosed the 2nd option... it is like, sacrifice 4 teeth to save the rest of my teeth

. I use the same technology like Nikki had, In-Ovation C, which is similar to Damon technology, but that doesn't guarantee u not to extract teeth... my ortho told me so... but still, options are there... even tho ppl out there commenting why i wear braces in the first place bcoz they said my teeth are already nice... actually i just wanted to pull a bit my protruding teeth on the upper part... so by extracting teeth, gap will be like 8mm so that my teeth will move better compared to if i just install screw where the max gap will reach 5mm only... this is my case-lah... however, conditions may varies to diff patients... let our Dr. suggests the best for us... and based on that, we decide on how we want our teeth to be...
So no worries leng_leng... choice is urs... and dont be too scared... that u might stiff ur mouth muscle... just relax a bit n everything will be just fine... if u r too scared, just close ur eyes, dont even look at all the appliances. After that u wont realize that ur teeth are already being plucked...

. I cud guarantee u, during extraction, u will discover no pain at all...
