No worry.. Dr. will know how to do it when u visit him. In the middle of process, the teeth still moving.. it will change after few months..wait till final stage, then Dr. will start do some fine tune & leveling the teeth.

I'm at the fine tune & leveling stage now. Dr. How said I can de-brace in Sept/Oct. I've made appointment 2day to c Dr. My upper front teeth is knocking my lower bracket.

Nikki & Ken, Dr How estimate only. I still somehow feel my teeth not straight enough. Maybe I'm too fussy. Example, I saw my teeth, next to each other, not completely same level, around 1mm different. I wanted to ask Dr to adjst for me, but worry he'll scold, 1mm also wanna adjst. I've seen Dr How 3 times in the past 1 week. Bracket came off and front teeth knocking each other.

Added on August 3, 2010, 9:50 pmNow I feel very painful when I drink cold drinks or my teeth exposed to cold air. Is it normal? Or is it because my braces are adjusted too frequent recently? It's more painful than wisdom tooth extraction... Help...

It happenned to me before.. so, i change my toothpaste for sensitive tooth type.. it solved the problem after finished one big toothpaste..(~one month ++), avoid to take cold drink during "treatment" lo..

Now I can't even drink room temperature drink. Have to be warm or hot drinks. I can't even laugh, cause once my teeth are exposed to cold air, I'll feel very pain...
I'm worried that my upper front teeth are repositioned until too high, that they touches my nerve and cause damage to my nerve...

assuming theres no extration, how much must we budget for throughout the approx 2yrs of wearing the braces?
i mean the braces,retaniner,visits ,etc

how has it affected your social life?

It depends on the type of braces you choose. For my case, I chose Damon 3MX which is RM6000. It can be paid by installment.

Sigh. I went for second extraction today, and the dentist told me I have jaw-locked.
When I open my mouth very wide, then can hear the 'click'. That is jaw-locked. Why I have so many problems one. Sigh.

After extraction, now can't open my mouth too big.
Next week, two more teeth to be extracted.

if that so, is there anything to be done for jaw locked? Let it be or how? I remember last time I hav tat prob also when I was a kid. Den I didn't do anything to it and it became back to normal....

but i would like to hear from those whove got braces, gone for all the follow-up visits n what not n boght all the stuff required n now have taken them off-from beginingt to end, how much did it cost altogether?

Let's say doctor quote u 6k. Tat will be the cost for braces installation plus two yes duration of monthly visit n services. Can pay by installment. Once finish paying but treatment not complete yet, doctor will not charge u. Unless extra treatment needs to be done. For eg; extraction, scalling. That 6k also exclude x-Ray n molding.

So do the math, it can add up to 8k maybe by the time u finish.
Also note tat, rubberbands are FREE. Hope tat helps.

hmm. not sure. i have that since very long time and i thought it was normal ~.~

maybe i'll ask the ortho on the next appointment.
