NikkiDaTeddy: Oh your treatment came quite fast ya. Unlike mine, so far it has been 2 months wearing upper braces and only had 2 teeth extracted. Maybe cuz everyone's teeth condition is different and the treatment needed also different. However I will try to be patient... susahnya... haha... Oh yeah I read back your older posts where just had your braces, I think I am going through the same emotions - excited and wanted the teeth to move fast and see result instantly haha...

June 2010 - after 2 upper teeth extraction - cannot see from front view but the tiger tooth is slowly moving towards the back


I just can't imagine how my teeth will look like after 2 yrs... what a long wait... well better late than never...

In between the front tooth and "tiger tooth" got another tooth that has been pushed inside. Doctor said, let the tiger tooth move backwards then only will put bracket on the tooth that you might not be able to see now (between front and tiger tooth) then pull it out...

I have 2 more teeth to extract.. I am scared too haha...

Hi den, yes, doctor advised me to extract 4 teeth same as you! Side profile I think is not affected so much, can only see empty spaces between teeth when you smile haha... I think maybe you can ask doctor on that if it worries you. Is the doctor going to extract 4 teeth at the same time?

Help! My wire broke just now. My appt is supposed to be tomolo nite but was rescheduled tis morning to next tues coz doc not around. Originally was supposed to be comin sat but doc not around. (hai...tired of all tis rescheduling la)
Anyway I haven extract any teeth or put on bottom braces, so I dun feel my teeth moving much. Is it ok to wait till next tues or shld I go tomolo morning? But I need to get MC if I go tomolo coz I'm supposed to be in office. Headache la!

Depends whether doc wan to giv or not. Normally for mthly appt I supposed doc won giv mc. But my case is emergency so duno can beg for 1 or not.
But mc or not, I dun reali wan to take time off my work. Better if I can go next tues evening after work. U guys think I shld wait? I'm freaking out coz tis is my 1st time n I duno wat to do.

Tks folks. I guess I panicked abit. After I asked d nurse again, she told me it's not a big prob coz it's only my 1st wire n I haven't extract any teeth yet. So I guess my braces is only meant to loosen up my teeth in preparation for extraction. Only after my teeth r pulled out, d alignment will start to take place. Therefore I opt to fix it at my next appt which is next tues evening.
Now tat I think of it calmly, could my wire broke becos I ate a burger last nite? It's my 1st attempt at burger since I wore my brace. But my braces was alrite until tis afternoon when it suddenly snapped. I wasn't doing anything at tat time.. not eating, brushing teeth or rinsing. Not even talking. I was sitting in front of my pc quietly doing my work n it snapped just like tat. So scary!
Tis teach me a lesson. Never ever eat a burger again until I'm brace-free!

Personally i dont think its caused by eating burger. Cos if really is bcos of the burger, it would hav snap right there and then. Like u said, u wasnt doing anything then it snapped. That happened to me b4. Probably just bcos your teeth were moving and to the certain extend, the glue cant hold anymore and just snap.

Not bad, McD's Spicy Chicken McDeluxe is quite easy to rip. So i think its not the burger... But eat slowly dont rush urself.

Coincidentally... I also ate McD Spicy Chicken McDeluxe yesterday. It made my teeth feel a bit pain, they fried it too hard. Next time i'll opt for Fillet-o-fish. Much easier to eat.

what happens when the teeth moves when u forget to put on retainer? mean to say really back to square 1??
all that $$ n pain ...for nothing???

not all cases require extraction. it's case by case basis. my case is without extraction.

if forget to put on retainer, the teeth will move slightly, but not back to square 1, jst tat it won't be as perfect as right after de-brace.

2 of my front-most teeth are knocking towards the 2 front-most lower teeth. Should I ask Dr. to fix it for me before my next appointment?
