wow...now braces got transparent n visible 1s? so high tech alrd?

i do braces b4 bout 7yrs ago. extract 2 teeth n i thank god it wasnt pain at all. cost bout 3.7k back then.

if for me i think ill opt for the besi 1 instead of transparent. according to evin...its much cheaper, plus braces is like a trend this days, so its not a problem to show ur besi teeth.

how much does braces cost these days? i read thr was 6k?

oh ya...btw, till now i actually duno wats the use of wearing rubber. any1 care to explain?
*
Yes, there are transparent (ceramic) version now. Yes, its not a problem to wear braces at any age this days... But do you know there are advance, express and comfort version this days? That is why people pay 6k or even 15k for braces. Traditional besi type is abt 4k now.

There are even more high tech version such as Lingual braces and Invisalign braces which u cant even tell whether if he or she is wearing braces. Click spoiler for reference.

Usage of rubber? What rubber? The colorful rubber on each of ur brackets or the big white ones on ur hook?

Hey guys,Its ronnie here.

i came back from my app for this month today from doctor how. So remember the 2 brackets that kept popping off? well finally doctor how decided to put bite stopper on Me... cry.gif

But its not that bad,cuz i have to do some speech for my college,i asked him if he can not make too thick. So its not that thick now and my speech isnt really affected thank god.But its weird everytime wanting to bite together that ur teeth dont meet.haha
Think that solved the popping bracket issue, cuz he claims that my uppers might be biting straight onto the brackets causing them to detach.Well guess what, they both POP OUT AGAIN.

If im counting correctly this might be the sixth or 5th time!!!! Im soooo frustrated right now cuz its about rm50 to pay for a can to go from cyberjaya to bangsar. This is absurd! as i can barely survive myself as a student!
What do u guys think? should i opt for bracket change? i mean of course he is the doctor and he certainly knows what to do,but i have a feeling its the brackets..they can get damaged/or lose its cementing capabilities right?? im calling the place tomorrow for an emergency walk in app,i might request for the bitestopper to be added in thickness and might as for bracket change [is that even possible?]

Im at wits end.its frustrating me cuz this would certainly lengthen my treatment time. And that is NOT good. Looks like i wont be debracing myself anytime near July sad.gif

Owh and now since ive been using the rubber bands,he told me to quit them.Instead he used some kind of metal bands on my uppers to close my gap.For some reason i love the pressure on my teeth,i hate the feeling when he takes the wire off for a wire change.felt like they are going to fall off! haha

Anyways, tell me what u guys think. If you got experiences with any doctor.I just want to know. SIGH...

You are saying ur brackets keep on popping off, means the wire pops up from the brackets? or the brackets themselves pop up? I have my braces at dr. how too. It's my 6th month now. I had bite stopper since my 2nd month having braces. The wire came off once n doctor told me, it's because I'm eating/chewing better n tat creates pressure on the wire which cause it to come off. Maybe you can try not to eat hard food or chew too hard.

Yup!! my upper teeth need space to move inside cos too protruding out d..so need to grind like 6 of my upper teeth.. this is the last choice of no choice.. the process of grinding teeth is very scary ler..! sweat.gif its like the blade cutting ur gum.....now think back also takut ah!

nikki, i find is kinda difficult to brush the gap between each teeth after putting on the rubber.. even using the interdental also hard to go in leh.. Is the rubber wil change color if we eat sumthing which easily stain on the teeth.. like curry or coffee?

not sure if we are talking about the same type of rubber. is it a round shape rubber put in between teeth? if yes, it will change colour. mine already changed from blue to a bit yellowish...

Emmm... to avoid confusion, i think i better add picture here.

So which type? Basically I uses (A) to close gaps. Gaps from extraction. This rubberband will stain a little but not obvious. and its only happen at the back. So the stain part usually wont show.

However, to those traditional metal braces wearer, u will have the (B) type. Damon and In-ovation wont have these. This is the type where u get to choose different color every month.

As for C. I wore this b4 in the beginning. This is an express alignment tool. When i have these, my teeth move into position so fast and soon u hav straight teeth already. There are different color for this also. I had transparent and it stain super fast and i always ended up with yellow teeth looking. To be exact, the rubber got yellow, not my teeth. Doctor also used this to hook it on my teeth to my screws. To my gum treatment.

Leng Leng, if u are refering to (A), when brushing ur teeth, just take out the rubberband and brush. After that, put it back on... But if u are tlking abt ©, hahaha...good luck. Its memang difficult to brush. During my time, at some teeth, i cant even push the interdental brush in it. Cos its too narrow in space.

Got different color wan...u try to ask ur doctor...if u hav the transparent wan, stay away from curry or anything with kunyit...it will stain it...and its horrible.

Actually i wonder why doctor didnt tell u or explain the things they use on u... my doctor will tell us the name of the things....thats why i know the names... and yes, its powerchain...however, some powerchain or in metal. doctor will twist the metal around brackets to tighten the whole jaw.

Dr. How explain the things they use on you? How come he did not explain to me? I got to know the name by eavesdropping what he told the nurse/assistant. He did not explain to me.... It makes me feel very insecured and uncomfortable because I do not know what is he doing to my teeth... Even when I ask, he gives me very short answers. Maybe he has too many patient to attend to, no time to explain to me... sad.gif

My last appointment was last Saturday, dr repositioned 4 brackets and put 4 powerchain at upper, 7 powerchain at lower. My gum has been bleeding quite a lot since Saturday, going to c dr again today to check if everything is ok.

I think the default colour of powerchain tat doc chooses for u depends on the type of braces u are having. If you are using transparent/ceramic type, doc will give u transparent powerchain. As for my case, I'm using damon 3mx metal, tat's y doc choose gray powerchain for me.

i will be going to see Dr How at his Maluri Branch later today[COLOR=red][SIZE=7]. I called the clinic at the nurse told me to go over for consultation.

I have actually started my orthodontic treatment in Perak. But it's conventional braces which will take me about 3 years to complete the treatment. The dentist asked me to wear a removable "stop bite" to open my mouth as I have deep bite also (bottom teeth biting lelangit) and with front teeth going outward. I have put this for almost 6 months. and the dentist said I have to extract 4 teeths. total treatment around 3.5k (include xray, molds, braces, extraction...)

it's dam cheap compared to damon 3 but I wish not to have my teeth extracted.

I hope I will have good news from Dr. How. Although the nurse said it's 5.6k but it's much shorter treatment period. 12-14 months...

I will see how it goes after consultation... but need pay a refundable RM50 consultation fee (refundable only if you do treatment there...)

Hey guys, been here many months ago. That time I havent decide whether I should go ahead and do it.. Just make an app with the doc last week and will be putting on the braces in mid January. Anyway, I need to extract four of my white gigi..but I guess it for the good.

Much to learn from the seniors here.
