Phone downloaded the update once I connwcted to wifi. Now already using 325.

So far can't see/feel any difference, though. Tried to search the net but it seems there's no review or comment on it yet. (worried a bit)

is yours p20pro also?

Yes, but middle east set. Bought in Qatar last year.

Really don't understand why security update would take 4 Gigs. Didn't have any other noticeable highlights, too. Only indicated correction on bug that keep on downloading the same update over and over even if the phone has already been updated. Certainly doesn't need 4 gigs in my book.

My Mi A2 Lite got the November's security update and it was around 88mb only.

Mine dates back to 2017.

Although I have to say, there hasn't been much activity in terms of actual phone calls. I'm receiving calls on WhatsApp, Duo, and other apps.

Also (maybe it makes a difference) mine is middle east set on 9.1.0.361 software update.

How's the battery life?

I have a Mi A2 lite that got updated to android 10 only a couple of days ago. Its battery life became much worse... From charging once in every 2-3 days (I only use it for waze, mainly) down to a little over 1 day. The standby power draw is the issue, I think.

It used to be that phone will outlast this p20p of mine (which is my main phone), but no more.

Just got the EMUI 10 update on yesterday night.

Apart from the UI graphics update and better dark mode, the biggest improvement I noticed is the wifi speed.

I used to get maximum dl speed around 3XX mbps on AC router.
After update I'm getting around 436 Mbps and this seem like the correct speed for AC now.
*
got the notification this morning. any issues so far?

how's the battery life?

my other phone is Mi A2 Lite. it got its Android 10 update recently and gave me battery drain issue. They fixed it now, though.... but it got me worried a bit about this EMUI10-Android10 update.

For comparison, my A2 Lite is a "lightly" used phone, which used to go at least 3 days before needing a charge. My p20 pro is my main phone, normally requires a charge by the 48th hour... sometime if I just stay home and use the wifi, this stretches to 3 days also. SOT around 5 hrs minimum to over 7 hrs (obviously this is when I stay home only using wifi and even having airplane mode turned on occasionally).

However, after the Android10 update, my A2 Lite wouldn't last ONE day - not even 24 hours. That despite the lightly use scenario. Though, I'd stress again, it is now fixed and can go three to four days before needing a charge.

The price is RM99 including service charge for battery change. They had promo before RM60 for battery change including service charge. Can always check Suppport app for news and promo

What i like about Huawei is that they have quite a no of service centre and spare parts are cheap not like Samsung lol. Now screen change is only RM96, i once change my Samsung s3 screen for RM600+  sweat.gif

By the way, EMUI 10 is definitely draining more battery than EMUI 9 on my P20.
*
Dang... Just what I was afraid of.

Can you be more specific? What was your SOT before and after? Or total usage (with ur usage pattern) before needing a charge.

I'm currently on a 2-3 days (sometimes 4) charge cycle, becoz just staying at home 90% of the time on wifi. If still working, avrg <2 days becoz mostly using mobile data.

I still prefer EMUI 8 camera because we can manually control the Portrait effect like bokeh and lighting even in Gallery. Since EMUI 9  none can be done.
*
What do you mean? I'm on EMUI9 and the aperture thing still works.

What I mean is.. if you using Camera Portrait mode ..you cant change the Effect (especially the Lighting effect) manually in Gallery.. It still working for Aperture mode but not for Portrait mode Effect.
*
I see... I admit, I very rarely use portrait mode as I normally take pics of non human stuff. I use only Aperture for that. And it's too late for me to check now, obviously.

Just updated mine a few minutes ago. Fast/super charging no longer working. Anyone encounter the same issue?

Tried both original P20p charger & cable and also my USB-C laptop charger. Just a couple of days ago these two can charge quickly with no issue.

Now it's been on the charger for the last (almost) 30 minutes, and it only got 15% increase... dang!!!

Will try.

Now it's already charged (though it's down to 86%) and unless I stream on my phone (not using my laptop or ipad), it will be another 2 days before I need to charge again.

Seem like your phone charging port or cable not in very good condition there.

Try power off your and let it charge? Last time my p20pro have something like that, couple of times that I tired charging with phone off somehow reset it back to super charging.

However, eventually it failed to continuing super charger mode due to charging port do have issue.

You can try to connect your phone to PC, if it still can detect by your PC for file transfer then it is not port issue.
If cant, mean the port's data pins maybe in bad condition already.
*
Well, mine's still working good. It detects just nicely on my laptop (using custom usbC to usbC cable).

Kind of suspect it's a software thing, coz you know... Just updated to EMUI10/Android10 today only and suddenly got this charging issue.

Update...
I think something is going on on the software size. I vigorously used my phone last night, put on the hotspot, bluetooth and GPS to make it consume more power.
By morning, the charge was down to 37% and I put it on the charger (ori p20p charger that came in the box with the cable). Now it's done roughly 50% after around 30+ minutes, which is (so) much better than yesterday,
So maybe there is some kind of a "learning curve" implemented by the system.
Let's see how it fares in the next charge.

I think it is related to a setting under the Battery. There is a setting "SMART CHARGE". You can try to turned it off.

Thanks. I already did that yesterday when I saw that it charged only 15% in 30 minutes or so.

Still have it turned off now. The only difference, is now I have the app AccuBattery installed (as someone else suggested). It may have something to do with the improvement, but I can't be sure.

Just for clarity, I installed the app after charging the phone for 2 hrs or so, yesterday. Used it a bit and install the app. Tried the charger, saw it was indeed feeding only around 2A, but I thought that it was because my phone was still relatively fully charged.

When I tried this morning, at 30 odd percent battery charge, the feed was a little over 4A (probably margin of error thing, I think it's actually 4A exact).

Counting all the time I plugged and tried various chargers (including my Lenovo Yoga720 charger, which normally gives a quick charge), this morning's charge was the seventh plug in. Not sure what to make of that.
