Go to your phone settings - Apps - Youtube - Storage - then got CLEAR DATA and CLEAR CACHE button.. click on clear data.. u will be shocked at how much data youtube stores in your phone.. Mine was 1.3GB.

Update ur app in play store, do all the above steps, then force close it in the app switcher then restart it. Should work.
