Hi to all gaming expert here rclxms.gif

May i know is there any " HDMI Box" whereby we can connect from any source with Component/S-video (Games Console/DVD player) and output with HDMI(1080i/1080p) ?

I read in other thread there's some kind of VGA's box with component input.I actually tried some China brand TV Box below RM250(can support resolution up to 1440x900) with my 19" wide LCD but the result is suck, totally not sharp at all.

So,any recommendation? Price range < RM500?

To answer your question bro, what you're looking for is an upscaling box. IINM you will always suffer worse quality. Nothing beats component or HDMI direct from the source.

hi Lord_Ashe,thanks for the reply, direct signal would be best but what if console/player like PS2 only got component out but we need the HDMI(1080i) resolution ? If not mistaken, some hi-end amplifier like Denon top series have video scaller built in....any recommendation?

Hi bysquashy,may i ask what make u think "component in's signal " is rubbish ? rolleyes.gif

It doesn't matter. So far the best solution to upscale PS2 games would be to use the PS3's upscaling capability. IMHO no other box will be able to match that, and if you're already talking about Denon top series, that's definitely more than RM 500.

I don't think bysquashy means component in is rubbish. What he meant is probably these third party boxes introduce some more interference that will most likely degrade your signal even further. Remember, component is still analog.
